Berrian looks to be the #2 guy right now. From what I have heard, Bradley is not nearly 100% yet and can't make cuts and stop and go like he used to. I hope he doesn't rush back. Although he doesn't have great speed, I liked what I saw last year. I have also been hearing that people don't think Musin could be a #1 WR on most teams. He was probably the best WR in 04, and yes he dropped a ton of balls last year, but I expect some big plays and 10 TD's at least this year. A healthy Grossman or Griese will make Moose look much better.

huh? Bradley was drafted as a raw WR with great speed. his hands and routes are what were questioned, never his speed.

I never heard of him as a great speed guy.

Really? He ran a 4.42 at the combine and in the 4.3's at OU's proday.

I never thought of him as a burner nor a plodder. Certainly faster than Muhammed, but he's not the Bears speed threat.

I think he is in the faster end of the spectrum when it comes to WR's. He's not the fastest guy in the NFL but speed certainly isn't an issue with him. Low 4.4's and high 4.3's is fast.

This looks like a sprain *knocks on wood*

X-Rays negative. Benson said today he admits he was a little freaked out when it happened because he's never really been injured much, but that now it just feels sore.

Doctors will re-test him in a bit.

There's a possibility we will have all 3 RBs in time for the season, which is still 5 weeks away.

Didn't Cedric say he's never been hurt when he hurt his knee last year? I just find it funny he said that again, since he's been a pro for a year and missed about 1/2 that time. Not piling on, just sounds funny to me.

Like Dusty saying his teams never have bad fundamentals or always play deep into October.

I don't want to get carried away with the injury thing, but his career couldn't have started out any worse and the RB situation could not be much more scary right now.

Hopefully MRI results come out today. Also, hopefully T. Jones will be back within the next week (that's what the speculation is).

It'd be interesting to see how he and Angelo would handle it if Benson is out for a longtime and Jones is the default #1 back. Does he just want to keep his deserved starting job, or is it mostly about being paid like a #1 back.

I dunno about that. I think it would be MUCH scarier if both guys were out with ACL tears or something. Both guys seem to be out for more precautionary reasons. I think both of them would be playing if it was the middle of the season. I'm honestly not that worried that we'll be seeing Adrian with the bulk of the carries or anything.

I think Jones is out for precaution and for contract reasons. I believe that if he was the #1 RB without question, he'd be healthy enough to practice. Yes, it could be scarier, but it's plenty bad right now. It would be bad enough if this team was just trying to maintain the offensive status quo, but they need to make huge strides and they can't accomplish that if the running backs can't practice, no matter the reason.

If our core can stay healthy I believe that our offense should be ok this year. It definitely won't be as bad as it was last year when Orton took over. We will rely heavily on our RB's so here's hoping they stay healthy. Bradley was considered a WR who had tremendous speed and playmaking ability. I just can't wait for the season even though i was really dissapointed with the draft.

this is typical of the write ups on Bradley when the Bears drafted him (too high)

But it wasn't really the running game that needed to make huge strides. It was the passing game. Jones is already pretty proven, and Benson, by all accounts, was having a very good camp. I guess I've been holding a pessimistic enough view of the Cubs, that I have a lot of saved up optimism to use on the Bears... :D

Well, this is really just the first thing that I've worried about with the Bears. I didn't mind the draft. I liked the Griese signing. I'm pretty confident they'll be a good team this year and can make some noice. But both RBs going down is not something to laugh off.

That's true. And I'm not really laughing it off. Just refusing to stress myself over it...at least till we get a couple preseason games under our belt.

I would be much more worried about the quarterback situation if I was the Bears. The defense should be solid again and I don't think both RB's should be out very long. Grossman finally staying healthy and showing what he can do is the question mark.

One team, believed to be the Chicago Bears, has offered a fourth- round draft pick in exchange for Lelie.

Shanahan and Lelie's agent, Peter Schaffer, could not be reached for comment Sunday night. Shana- han previously has said he wanted "equal value" for Lelie, and the team has been steadfast, according to several general managers in the league, that it wants a first- or second- round pick or a front-line player for Lelie.

WTF? Good luck with that.

i agree with dan bernstein--urlacher is a "desert simpleton".

if you live in the midwest, it's the same thing as a "river rat"; in the west, it's "mountain people"; in the east, it's good ol' "hillbilly".

i guess that's not the point, because mike brown is supposed to be "real smart", at least he should have known better.

Did you even see the hit? Brown barely touched him, Urlacher's hit wasn't that bad and what I'd expect of practice.

It really didn't look that bad, I hope it's not too serious.

no, i didn't see it, and the report that i heard on espn 1000 was that urlacher and brown "pinballed" benson as he was making a catch over the middle. i only knew what i was told, so i apologize for the knee-jerk response.

that said, urlacher and brown both acted like benson was on a different team when questioned about it.

There's a video link earlier in the thread if you're interested in seeing it....it's not great quality, but you can get an idea of how trivial the contact was.

Bernstein is just an angry soul who feels the need to insult others randomly to re-affirm his intelligence. I'd think twice before taking his attitude or philosophies to heart. Just a bit of advice...

be worried that a third fluke injury is going to happen? when they have a legitimate backup now? the Bears QB situation is better than it has been in years, perhaps decades.

now you wanna talk about QB concerns, let's talk about the silver and black.
