Ok, Denver would be idiotic if they did that trade. To get garbage in return for a solid #2 receiver does not make any sense.

But you have to realize, Lelie isn't reporting to camp anytime soon, and he's a FA after this year I believe. It's a cap move and a team morale move. Fourth round picks aren't trash anymore (Nathan Vasher anyone?), and Michael Haynes has never been given a chance here in Chicago. It's definitely a better deal for the Bears, but it makes sense for Denver too.

Talk about selling low...if Denver would've traded Lelie in the offseason, they could've gotten so much more for him rather than just a 4th round pick and Michael Haynes. Michael Haynes is a bust, plain and simple...I don't think a change of scenery will help him out that much. If I were Denver, I would probably request at least a 2nd round pick for Lelie.

Yeah, they screwed up. They asked for Jones, which Angelo turned down, and were rumored to want a 1st round pick, but no one would give them that. I hope Angelo can pull this deal off.

I wonder what the Bears could get from the Jets for Jones with the probability that Curtis Martin is done.

this makes it a little more complicated ...

(Benson to miss 2-3 weeks)

... but seems the Jets have to do something to get an every down back.

what you hearing in NY Goony?

Well, I'm hearing the Jets are using this as a developmental season. There's next to no hope for contending this season, so I doubt they'd trade much for a good but far from great RB.

But anything's possible I guess.

Didn't Denver just take on a couple of "bust" defensive lineman last year and get very good seasons out of them? They are the ultimate scheme team that seems to be able to get the most out of guys.

Well I should've looked at this a little closer...NFL network isn't showing the Bears game till like Tuesday at 3pm or something...and since I'm far enough south that I don't get local Chicago tv, I'm screwed :(

When I lived in B/N, we always got the preseason games...

3 of the preseason games are on NBC5, which we don't get here. The only way we may get it is if they show it on the "extra" station that they use for things like the Cubs games on FSN+. But they don't put that in the listings, so it's just a roll of the dice as to whether that will happen.

We'll get the Bears vs Chargers game next friday, since that one is national.

I'll try to put highlights up on youtube, but my NBC signal isn't very good. Next week's game is on CBS and that signal is even worse.

Go out to the bars or watch the Bars?

Won't the bars be there when the Bars are over? They may even be showing the Bars at the bars. I say go Bars!

My plan is to watch the first half here, and the second half at the bars.

The starters will go either 20 plays or one quarter, whichever comes first.

The QB rotation will be Grossman, Griese, and Orton. Griese and Orton will split up the last three quarters.

Kruetz did not make the trip because of sickness. Anthony Oakley will start at center.

Berrian is a gametime decision. If he can go, he'll only get limited action.

Haha. On one of the parts of the team video they watched to kill time on the plane ride last night (which was delayed 90 minutes), veterans told the rookies to listen to Kruetz at all times...but never talk to him.

Lennie Friedman is starting at center.

I was close.

Only took one play for them to remind me how terrible the camera work is during the preseason.

Apparently he walked off. He's moving around on the sidelines. Let's just hope there's no concussion. Or was it his leg?

3-0 SF.

I'd rather he have a mild concussion than a sprained knee.
