The only thing I've found on him so far is just impressions from a message board. They said that he was a big kid with a mid 90's fastball who could move fast through the system (of course, the Padres at the time).

You tell me I have to see Neifi Perez in the line up for the rest of the year? Time to call up Patterson.

Todd you're awesome give Hendry a piece of your mind on the way out.

The name I saw is Jose Ceda--a 5+ ERA in the Arizona League. Decent BB/K numbers. Basically, they gave Walker away.

Hendry needs to go.

At least a 19-yo pitcher has some upside. Walker was a bench player in Dusty's system, that is not gonna be a Cub next year anyway. No problem getting something for him, no matter if Ceda never makes it.

As much as we like him, I think this was the market for Todd Walker.

A 19 year old relief pitcher?

Does Hendry even try anymore?

Well, he's got upside and an arm. Still, doesn't sound like he has a breaking ball or anything like that. Very big project.

That sounds positive. Of course it depends who is saying it.

Wow, I think we got screwed pretty nicely. Walker could have gone for more methinks.

I'm not so sure. There's never been much interest in Walker, even when he was coming off better offensive seasons and at a younger age than this year.

Apparently Ceda has hit 99 on the radar gun in front of scouts. Can't find much about him, though. 23 IP isn't much to go on.

You're probably right, its just a shame that we can't get any immediate value for our MLers.

I really wish this was NOT a family site right now.

#@$!%$#%$!@#%$#%!@#$%!$%#@ Hendry piece of #@$!@#$!@$#!@$#

(this is not so much my love affair with Todd, but the fact that I'm gonna have to see Neifi in the 2 hole at 2B the rest of the freaking year).

Well, any immediate value we were going to get was going to be very mediocre. It looks like Hendry found someone who at least has a chance to be something special.

Exactly. Why are people continuously thinking that a guy the Cubs signed for cheap and had no interest from teams 2 years ago, had no interest this offseason when the Cubs were knowingly trying to get rid of him, and has had a down power year was gonna bring back something of substance?

Same with the Williamson deal.

Hard to disagree, especially on the Williams deal.

Seems to me that NO ONE offered any more for Walker. Why does everyone think he was valuable to any other team? I think this shows his value.

I couldn't agree more. Ceda is a raw 19-year-old with a live arm and a chance. That's pretty darn good for two months of Todd Walker's services that the Cubs didn't need anyway "cause their season is over.

Not a great trade, but certainly a good one that has a chance of being great.

I will miss Todd. Honestly, though, I couldn't care less. I haven't watched a full game in what seems like months. I won't watch another game until Baker is gone.

Brutal trade.

Shove it Hendry, and shove it Cubs.

What a joke. Hendry couldn't give this guy away for the last year, and you're griping about who he got in return? I'm just happy he's gone and Dusty will play Theriot! (Or at least, he [expletive] better...)

The reports that Jon posted leave me with that impression also.
