Pro and College Football Pick'Em, Survival Football

I started a group on Yahoo intended mainly for NSBB members, but I also plan to mention it to my fantasy league and others are welcome to invite friends too. The group ID is 6141, and the password is NSBB. The league is based on straight picks rather than point spreads, and I set the deadline for five minutes before each game (rather than the first game of the week). That way, if you forget about an early game, such as a Thursday, you're out that game but can still pick the rest of the games that week (I remember that was a problem sometimes last year). In both. And I don't know if it could be changed, but I am in favor of the point spreads being added......especially for college. Anyone can know that USC will beat Arkansas, but can they beat them by 35? That makes it much, much tougher.

It looks like I could change the settings. Those who have entered (or are planning to enter), please indicate your preference for straight picks vs. point spreads, for both college and pro. If it appears there's a consensus to change either or both contests to point spreads I'll do so.

I definitely like straight winners for the pro game..if you want to do point spread in college that's fine, but I'm ok with straight there as well.

You're contradicting yourself; there's no such thing as "straight point spreads." There's either straight picks (which means just pick the winner) or point spreads. Perhaps you could clarify which one you meant you prefer.

Opinion seems to be mixed about the college contest; there isn't a clear-cut consensus either way. Since there isn't a strong consensus to change I'll leave it like it is (straight picks), but point out that there's no reason somebody else can't start a league based on point spreads (there's no law that says I'm the only person allowed to start leagues for these contests, or that somebody can only be in one such league :D ). If somebody else does start a league based on point spreads I'd probably join that one as well to double my chances.

 

Also, Survival Football is now available for sign-up on Yahoo. If nobody else starts a league in the next several days I'll start one. I'm giving others a chance to do it first.

I thought there was a pretty solid group that wanted point spreads for college and not NFL (which I agree with). Either way is fine, though.
