Nice ovation from the fans.

I like how Dusty handled that. Seemed he was ready to pull him even if he kept the no-hitter thru 6, which is the right move. He gave him one chance to finish and then that's it.

And Prior done after 5 2/3 innings. And his hand is hurt? Hopefully just a cramp, but solid day overall by Prior. Like to see him decrease the walks next start, but overall good.

Solid? Solid? If he lowered his walk total, he'd have one of the best pitching performances in baseball history. Yes, the walks are not great-but he still no-hit them-if that's solid, then no pitcher is ever going to really reach great.

Oh god, Prior grabbing his hand and looking hurt again, even dusty is checkin it out, Back to the DL for Mark

Looked to me like he was holding the ball in his glove and Dusty went in there to take it from him, as a sort of sign that he wants to keep pitching.

You need a drink.

Or maybe one less drink.

Alright take it easy. Five walks in 5 2/3 innings does not constitute a great day. He pitched very well today in comparison to other days, but he was behind a lot today. Maybe it's solid in comparison to how Prior pitched in 2003. For 2006, it was very good.

5 walks for Prior? Where's the control kid?

He hasn't had it all year. This should be expected. He hasn't pitched much and had some injury worries, two things that can always end up causing control problems.

Ohman gets the out.

First time the Mets have been no hit through 6 innings all year.

Pitching change? Great idea...good game, Prior!

Bringing in Ohman to face a rightie? Way to go, Dusty.

Ass.

Delgado is a lefty

Isn't Delgado a lefty?

I was at the game yesterday. The crowd was well informed except for some bad booing at the umpires on some correct calls.

Sorry-but the point is, Prior shut them out with a WHIP of under 1 for almost 6 innings-that's very good. If he had pitched this far and given up 2 runs on 8 hits and walks combined, that would be my definition of solid. Maybe our definitions are different though-I'm just saying that if you keep that definition, then our pitchers will only have a couple good starts all year long.

I couldn't agree more. That was the right time to pull him, nice move Dusty.

And good to see NYM fans have a heart - the ovation was nice.

Well..... let me see here..... The leadoff man is taking walks, the catcher is throwing out base runners, the outfielders are making good plays, the pitcher isn't giving up any runs, the batters have seen 4.60 P/PA...... all right, who kidnapped my CUBS ????

The opposing pitcher is up over 100 pitches by the 7th. Shocking. He's thrown more today than he did in his last outing, which was a complete game shutout.
