Ok, seriously this time:

Spiderman himself, Glenallen Hill. He, like Roosevelt Brown never turned into exactly what they were advertised. Although Hill hung around alot longer.

Mike Greenwell

Greenwell actually had a decent career until he decided to be a race car driver.

The guy finished at .303/.368/.463. Green monster-aided he might have been, but the guy was no bust.

I have quite a few Mike Harkeys and Ty Griffins amongst my old time collection (currently residing in my dad's attic); but for colossal busts, I don't don't think you get much bigger than Shawn Abner.

ah, very nice one there.

Brien Taylor.

Such a shame.............. Anyone want to fight? He now works for his father as a brick mason.

The Giants had a catcher in the late 80s early 90s. I cant remember his name but he was supposed to be real good. Never made it.

Steve Decker - good call.

May I add Doug Dascenzo? Sorry if Germans.

Would Eric Anthony count? I think so.

Paul Wilson

Jason Isringhausen has made his career as a closer, but was touted as a great starter. Wilson's still around, but he's not what he was touted either.

How much of a bust can a player be if they made it to the majors? I'm going to be at a Low-A game tonight and I'll be pleased if I see more than 4 players that'll make it to the majors combined from the teams.

Well, we're talking about guys that were hyped enough that they probably would be fast-tracked to the majors in many cases.

I can't believe it took 7 pages to get to Pulsipher and Wilson.

Juan (or was it Jose) Guzman? The one who was always injured for us.

did anyone mention Travis Lee?
I thought about it. He was definitely hyped and really never deserved a starting job in MLB.

I'm enjoying this list. It's probably not fair to list guys who never made it because of injuries, however.

How about........

Joe Charboneau

I win! Although Ben McDonald is pretty good competition.

Nick Johnson

Jon Rauch

Kurt Ainsworth

Denny Neagle

and I'm surprised this one hasn't been said (or I missed it): Juan Cruz.

Jeremi Gonzalez, Oliver Perez...

Have you notice no one has mentioned Corey Patterson as a bust. Is he one?

Oh, nevermind, he changed his name!

Joey actually was a pretty damn good ballplayer!

Yeah, I always thought Joey was a funny name for him. Just didn't fit. If it weren't for injury he would have put up alot more numbers.

Nick Johnson? Of the .390 career OBP and .422 OBP this year?

D'oh. I meant to say Drew Henson. Nick Johnson was the well-touted 1B from the Yankees farm system that has panned out well the last couple of years.
