lets trade Ramirez, Walker, J. Williams and fat Glendon to the yankees for Arod, AA third baseman eric brown and A Pitcher B villalona.

We would appreciate ARod, Brown is a prospect and Villalona is a starting pitcher. We move Cedeno to 2nd base, put ARod in at SS, bring up McGehee up from iowa to play third, while a deal is made for a 3rd baseman

That trade would make a lot of sense for the Cubs but do you really think the Yankees would make that trade just because Yankee fans currently aren't enamored with ARod? Arod is still one of the best players in baseball. Why would they want garbage like Rusch and Williams? Walker is a defensive liability and the Yankees already have Giambi at DH. Why would they want an underachieving no-hustle guy like Aram? He would get booed must worse than Arod does in New York, at least ARod hustles.

I would like the cubs to make a deal with the Dodgers for Cesar Izturis. If the deal does not involve Cedeno you could put him at 2B and put Izturis at SS. Izturis has a career .980 fiedling% at SS, and he could be the leadoff hitter next year.

The Cubs already have a leadoff hitter who can't get on base. Why would they need another?

Is that the same Cesar Izturis who has a career OBP of .296 (.635 OPS) or do they have another one tucked away somewhere? I say no thanks.

If we're going to get an OBP-challenged SS, let's try to get JJ Hardy from Milwaukee, what with the emergence of Bill Hall. At least Hardy has some promise and might get better.

I could live with a Hardy-Cedeno middle infield, if it would allow us to get a top middle-of-the-order hitter for the outfield (Abreu) and a top starting pitcher (Schmidt).

Hardy is gone for the year with ankle surgery. He had a high ankle sprain in May I believe and they've since decided that he did enough damage to one of the ligaments in his ankle that it required surgery.

Any deal with the Yankees for ARod will likely involve Jacque Jones because the Yankees need an outfielder.

I have an idea. Let's pick up Izturis, J.J. Hardy and Willy Taveras. Then we can start them all along with Juan Pierre and try to set a record for least runs scored in a season. BRILLIANT!!

We don't need any of those guys. They will not help the team.

You might be right. They'd want Howry, Zambrano, Pie and Jones.

No thanks.

Been reading a lot about ARod having bulked up too much to play SS again.

Replace Zambrano with ARam and you've likely got a package the Yankees might consider. I still don't think they will trade ARod though. I don't care how bad his defense is. A guy putting up those kind of numbers can't be traded.

Izturis is not only bad. He sucks at leadoff.

and

I like the Ramirez thing.

Which is more likely to happen.... the Izturis one.. because I think the Dodgers are trying to move him.
