Augie

He's actually in Iowa right now. Hopefully he gets some spot start in September or something.

You've got to be kidding me.

Augie Ojeda should never be on a big league roster again. He defines mediocrity-in fact, he's worse than mediocre.

Please tell me you're kidding.

Just because someone's bad, doesn't mean you can't miss them...

Glenallen Hill is the only correct answer... except I think he's out of baseball now :(

Also I'm gonna have to agree with "KaiserCesar" on Augie; one of my fondest memories growing up as a Cubs fan was seeing Augie out there on the field or at the dish looking completely clueless.  He's a lot like the walk-on on your college's basketball team that only ever comes in for the blowouts and gets a standing ovation because the fans love him so much.

Matt Clement

Moises Alou

Kyle Farnsworth

I'm still glad Trachsels gone. They lose much quicker now.

I think the lack of good players that actually answer the intial posters question proves one thing...

becoming a Chicago Cub completely ruins your career both in the short term and the long term.

Maybe I am in the minority, but I dont miss CPatt that much at all. He had an insane May by his standards (.357 OBP) otherwise he has been nothing short of bad.

Season stats (minus May)

.261 Avg

.290 OBP

.369 SLG

.654 OPS

I miss Nomar the most!

Nomar

Corey without a doube, and my wife misses him too lol.

So does Gail Fischer.

Did Gail Fischer and Corey have a fling or something that I missed?

It was rumored. I'm not sure if there was any actual truth to it.

Come on ocf...you have to find some new material!

He comes up with some great stuff, but it gets so hard to remember. It's much easier to rely on the old standbys.

If the search feature ever gets put back in, I'll be sure to bring up the "we got to dump Alou, because we have Dave Kelton waiting" threads, along with some of quality discussions. Maybe even the ones about Hendry traded the wrong guy in Cruz, should have traded Z.

I thought that Kelton might have been a decent 4th OF and I liked both Cruz and Z and didn't want either traded and may I add Willis to that too.

Alou would have been a decent 7th maybe 6th hitter but this team needs and needed more. Little did I know Hendry would do nothing to improve that situation.

Look, I agree with you on a lot of what you say. It's just sometime things get really carried away here with the comments. Everyone was on Alou in '04 because the great god Stone was ragging him. I thought Cruz had terrific stuff and have been disappointed in what he has done with it. Last year, nobody really wanted the Cubs to re sign Nomar because we had Murton, who might develop into a pretty good player yet. It just gets hard to take many of the threads seriously with the vindictive posts about about people(players). Look at this year, Jones was being trashed and still is here occasionally. He started slow, but he changed leagues, sometimes it does take a player a bit to adjust, but there was no mercy here. People want time for their favorites to develop but if they don't like someone, he better not go 0-4.

Take it for what it's worth, flame away, but many old time posters have disappeared because of it. And the people I know in baseball do not take most of this seriously. I only know a handful, but that is their opinion.

Flame away? I don't understand that phrase or maybe I don't understand why you said that.

You just said some things that had some valid points and IMO that's the type of posts I'd rather see than some of the posts you've put out there. Why can't you do that instead of the I told you so type posts? If you have a point, please just make it without trying to rub posters faces in it.

I didn't mean you on the flaming, just watch it will happen though.

The thought of I told you so, comes from the absolutes people throw out here. Sorry, I certainly didn't mean to offend you.
