Of course Belly, Lieber and Flash have to be on the list. I would say I miss Trachsel, but I get to see him pitch constantly because of my wife the Mets fan.

And yes, Samuel Peralta Sosa most of all.

Nomar and Dutchvalue.

Both really classy guys that gave 100% and I dunno, I just kinda miss them.

Also included would be Burnitz, although it helps he's sucking in Pissburgh. He was a gamer, and would run out everything and I just liked his attitude.

I'm surprised nobody has said Lofton yet.

Nobody, huh?

Nomar

Bill Mueller (don't know if he's technically still active)

Kenny Lofton

Corey

Electon Blue also mentioned Lofton.

So, what you're saying is, Mojo can't read?

That sounds like a great TV movie of the week...

And everyone picking Sosa needs to stop! He's an active player is his mind only.

I don't care what people say about chemistry and a bunch of other BS that the team wasn't likeable, I miss the whole 2004 team.

That was the best Cub team I have ever seen in my 23 years (through about half of which I have been a fan).

Mid-September 2004 was a great time to be a Cubs fan.

It's such a shame they had to burn out and completely choke in the last 8 or 9 games. They had a great chance at winning around 95 games and had the wild card in their pocket.

QFT, except Hawkins. I'll never forget that game (I think it was cin) where he almost blew the game and gave up a shot to the gap, and then sammy made the catch of his career, and laid out to make a spectacular grab.

And then Hawkins blew it the next inning or something.

i believe that game was in pittsburgh and wasn't that a 1-0 or 2-1 game? i remember it being VERY close.

Augie

He's actually in Iowa right now. Hopefully he gets some spot start in September or something.

Why? He's awful. Fans should beg to never have to see players like him anywhere near the team.

You've got to be kidding me.

Augie Ojeda should never be on a big league roster again. He defines mediocrity-in fact, he's worse than mediocre.

Please tell me you're kidding.

It's the sole reason that he is so far below average that he's wonderful.

Have you no sentimentality?

I don't have any sentimentality for him. I'm saving my sentimentality for a championship team. Augie Ojeda will never, ever be a part of a World Series winning team. He's a waste of a roster spot. The fact that this organization keeps players like Augie Ojeda around is an indictment of their judgement, and the fact that fans reflect fondly on his time here, and wish his return-even in September of a lost season-reflects on how misdirected the energies and focuses of the fanbase actually is.

Yeah, I think this is the game.

Wow, to think we went into the home stretch, 9 games to go 87-66, we went on to lose 7.

Makes me sick. Then again, that was the year we had to play something like 24 games in 22 days because of hurricane rain delays.

I think he's just roster-filler at AAA.

I'll agree that he's awful, terrible, and I don't want him on my major league team when it counts, I just think it would be funny to watch if he got a couple of plate appearances.
