i can't believe this is even a discussion. i'm embarrassed.

ok computer and kid a have done more for music than anything ccr ever did.

people here must really hate music that uses alot of electronic devices(don't argue with me that guitars are electronic devices, you know what i'm talking about).

I actually don't care for the use of electronics in music. I like Radiohead, but I'll take CCR over Radiohead any day.

thom yorke is a genius. it's just that they have changed the landscape of music so much. if a group has broke so much ground and influenced so many bands since... i was harsh on that post, but that's only my opinion.

Understood. But it was mentioned in one of these 12 polls, or in the thread on social, everyone has incredibly different tastes in music. Sometimes it's off by just a little bit, and sometimes it's by the extremities. I agree that Radiohead has changed music and that they're a great band, but CCR is more soothing to my ears.

If Radiohead loses this I will be ashamed of you all.

This pains me so much.

OK Computer is my favorite album...but CCR is just so great.

I have made my choice.

And I had to spill some of my own blood in the process.

The Best of CCR

More great songs on that disc than anything Radiohead has produced.

Why this may be true, the greatness that is OK Computer (disregarding Fitter Happier, because thats just creepy and stupid) is better than any one CCR album.

But dear lord, CCR put out so many fantastic hits...I mean...god they are so great.

I voted CCR in the end.

Derwood I think you let your personal bias get in the way of your seeding of CCR.

CCR is definitely a dark horse candidate right here.

They could make a damn fine run.

OK Computer is the best album of the decade of the 90's in my opinion. It's just insanely amazing. But CCR is pretty bada-- too. I'll go with radiohead though for their influence.

I didn't know they had such a following. They always struck me as one of those pleasant classic rock station bands who were nice to listen to but didn't do much in the way of changing the landscape of music.

You should be ashamed of yourself for making CCR a 14 seed.

I never want to hear Derwood complain about the selection commitee ever again! :D

I don't get this at all. CCR is some great country-rock, but they only have a couple great songs. Radiohead turned music on its head with OK Computer, then came back and did it again w/ Kid A/Amnesiac just a few years later.

I agree CCR shouldn't be a 14, but Radiohead should have been a 2. I'm wondering if anyone voted for CCR just b/c they're pissed about the low ranking.

And to those who say Radiohead fans are drug users, are you kidding me? My father-in-law still tells stories of listening to CCR while in the Army in Vietnam & smoking pot. I don't see how any of these 60s-70s bands could be less "drug rock" than a group like Radiohead. I mean, we're not talking Phish here.

I agree. CCR should be ranked higher and Radiohead lower. When I first read the rankings, I thought they were the other way (CCR as a 3, Radiohead as the 14).

That said, I voted for Radiohead, but it was a tough decision.

As much as critics may love radiohead i cannot stand listening to it. It is just painful to listen to.

That's funny. I've been listening to Radiohead pain free since 1993.

I know you're taking a lot of criticism and that sucks because this is a great undertaking. It's not one I'd ever try because beyond the music I like I'm pretty ignorant of other songs and artists.

On the other hand, CCR is an awesome band that is quite revered by fans of classic rock. I've spent numerous times listening to them as I drive and they have a smooth sound. Among people my age and older they have a very strong following.

Given many of the other bands I like, I should like Radiohead. However, I really don't like them. I wanted to like them...but just haven't been able to. I think OK Computer is plain awful, though I know it is highly respected by others & by critics. Edited by Tim

"Fortunate Son" was quite a song during its time.

CCR has a very sad story that ended with the brothers basically hating each other. At one point, a couple of the brothers sued John Fogerty for plaigerizing (spelling?) a song that HE wrote. Crazy stuff.

I've never heard a Radiohead song in my life (I'm only 29). I've listened to CCR since I was in diapers.
