Why is Zambrano pitching? There's no reason for him to still be in the game, you guys have a bullpen for a reason.

Why take him out if he's still in control of the game?

Are you serious?

well hopefully he can be on the hook for botha loss and TJ surgery

The announcers are pretty fair. The actually care about Zambrano and his well-being.

Announcer - "here comes Todd Walker"

Analyst - "thank god. Anybody but Zambrano"

And I'm pretty sure they were saying this as in Zambrano could blow out his arm if he continues to pitch 120+ per outing, not thank god he's out so we can get to their bullpen.

Z off the hook again.

I wonder if Dusty will trot him back out for the 9th.

His arm hasn't fallen off yet, he should stay in.

Plus we're in a pennant race, dudes.

Actually, it sounded more like they were happy his bat was out of the lineup.

Yeah. Different pitchers can handle different pitch counts. I think it's been shown that Z can handle a large amount of pitches in a game, probably the most of the Cubs staff. I wouldn't pitch Prior and certainly not Maddux or Marshall that high. But Z is one of those pitchers that doesn't suffer from going deep into games.

Or was it because they don't want to see him at the plate anymore??

Walker said tonight that he thinks the Cubs are trying to trade him according to Yahoo Sports and the Chicago Tribune.

Stupid move - and look likes we're stuck with Neifi everyday.

Perhaps, but I'd rather not find out if that is indeed the case. This season, Dusty's been riding him hard. He's been the best pitcher on this team since 2004.

This team is so far out of the race that these delusions of being contenders is just a joke. There should not be any reason Z should be going 120+ on a consistent basis at this point.

Did Pierre really hit a line drive or was that an exaggeration by gamday?

he put a bit of a charge into it, Jenkins made a diving catch on it.

Would you have pitched prior like that in 2003 when he was cruising along at the third most pitcher abuse points in the game? Would have pitched Wood like that in 2003 when he was cruising along racking up the the MOST pitcher abuse points in the game?

He might be handling it now, but

1) He is your STUD for the next 10 years

2) We are out of any meaningful games already in June

3) Why risk your future for a meaningless game? He pitched 7 and 107. That's ENOUGH.

Hey wait, I didn't think Walker could hit left-handed pitching and that's why Neifimeister was in the game?

Well you see dude, leftys aint supossed to hit lefties that good. And if Walk had walked he would have clogged the bases for Pierre man. Say did you know that since it is night and its cooler maybe thats why Walk was able to get that hit. :Sarcasm off:

Well he does walk to much, clogs up the bases, and has our best OBP so Hendry should get rid of him.
