I'd rather slit my wrist than cheer for either of these teams in the series. Then again, I'd rather slit my wrist than watch the Cubs.

The White Sox are for real. Their GM was criticized in the past but he has been very good the past couple of years. Too bad we can't say the same for ours.

Ponson's fatness sucked tonight and he couldn't control his anger and threw at Brian Anderson, which seemed pretty intentional. LaRussa looked pretty upset in the dugout as he slammed the bullpen phone and then took out Ponson and uttered a few expletives at Ponson after he hit Ozuna as well. Both teams were warned after that (for no real reason besides Ponson's dumbness) and Riske went in and hit a batter the next inning in retaliation.

Guillen is not dumb. Let's not insult him. He knows what he's saying, and he certainly knows that it's not acceptable. He has been in this country for a quarter of a century. This offseason, I went to his swearing-in as a U.S. citizen.

 

He was wrong. And he needs to apologize.

 

And he needs to be suspended. Are you listening, Bud Selig?

 

After the game, I told Guillen what I was planning to say here, and I gave him a chance to explain. Here's what he said:

 

"I don't have anything against those people. In my country, you call someone something like that and it is not the same as it is in this country.''

 

Hey Ozzie. America is your country now too because you're a citizen. Learn how to behave appropriately. Good column by Couch as well.
