Dunn likes him.

"He's got good stuff," said left fielder Adam Dunn, who hit his 20th homer of the season in the eighth inning off Scott Eyre. "He's one of the best I've faced in a while."

He's been blessed by deity.

Someone needs to photoshop a picture of Dunn looking down, shining brightly on Marmol from Heaven.

How dare you. Marmol should be looking down on the likes of Dunn.

I think lost in all of this is that Barrett called a really great game for the Kid. Really mixed it up nicely...

Yes! They mentioned that on the broadcast...the fact that Marmol never shook off anything Michael called. It was truly a team effort by the battery. 8)

It should be Dunn, Mercker, and Kasper looking down, the way Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Anakin looked down on Luke Skywalker at the end of Return of the Jedi.

Forget his stuff. I'm almost more giddy at the prospects of finding a pitcher who can actually locate the plate.

Ofcourse, because he uses his jedi skillz!!

His control has always been an issue. I wouldn't expect those problems to completely disappear after a double jump to the big leagues.

all right...that's enough doom and gloom from you, mr. i've followed marmol's career for more than 10 innings.

Yeah, I was noticing how quickly Carlos was working. He was getting the sign and going. He had a great, confident tempo.

Marmol reminded me of a young Pedro Martinez actually.

Me too.

What's funny, and I probably shouldn't even mention his name in a thread like this, is that Marmol was reminding me of another Cub prospect who was being compared to Pedro Martinez. Marmol looked like a confident and slightly less wiry Juan Cruz. Similar stuff but Cruz always seemed to have a scared look on his face while Marmol had the eye of the tiger.

Didn't read the entire thread, huh?
