I wonder where Wells is on the list of potential guys to get called up to start in the majors? Obviously, he's not on the 40-man, but I would be very interested to see him against ML hitters. I still think he can be a lights-out short reliever, but he's showing he can be a pretty decent starter this year.

Seriously, what's his deal?

He's allowed 15 earned runs this season but 12 unearned. And with that K/BB, his ERA isn't likely to stay that low for much longer.

So, what is the scouting report on Wells, anyway? What's his second pitch, slider or curve? I'm think slider, but I'm not so sure... How fast is he? Is he still your standard 88-93 guy? He was something of a flyball guy last year; still true? For having his own diary thing and whatnot, and despite how good has stats have been, I've gotten very little scouting info on him.

I was pretty interested in him back at Peoria (or was it Lansing?) two years ago. I recall two game reports, one said he was mostly 88-90 for velocity and didn't show anything very attention-getting; the other said he threw some 90-92. I seem to have some idea from Daytona getting a report of 89-93 for velocity, but other than a couple of references to what nice mechanics he had and how aggressive he was, I didn't get much else.

I think he's got some sort of big time cutter or something that was reportedly shattering bats left and right in ST. There was a couple of articles on him on Cubs.com during ST about him impressing alot of people.

Scott Taylor started the resumed 1st game of the doubleheader and is doing a great job so far. 4 IP, 3 hits, 0 BB's and 1 K for Scott. Unfortunately, Peoria's offense has only 1 hit through 5 (counting yesterday) and Kane County leads 1-0 in the bottom of the 6th.

Peoria loses the 1st game, 2-1 in 12. Taylor and Teasley combined for 9 scoreless innings until the 12th when Teasley gave up a solo shot with 1 out. Kane County's closer put Peoria down 1-2-3 in the bottom half to win it.

Come again? How can Taylor and Teasley combine for 9 scoreless innings if Kane County was leading 1-0 in the 6th?

It was the game resumed from yesterday. Veal gave up a run in two innings.

Daytona wins 1-0! Holliman had a real good start going 7 IP and allowing only 3 hits on no runs, 2 walks, and 4 K's. Jon Hunton got his first win of the year by pitching a scoreless 8th and Mendez came on to get his 11th save. Daytona's lone run came in the 8th on an RBI double by Sam Fuld.

Peoria leads 3-0 in the 3rd. Muyco hit his 2nd homer of the year, a 3 run shot, in the 2nd.

I'll be more than happy to relay your questions to Randy and post them once I hear back.

Quoting Jim Hendry..."We're just looking for somebody who has the ability to hit the ball out of the ballpark. We explored every possibility the last month to add a bat." So have they looked at Hoffpauir? I do believe that Micah was ranked #10 at one time last week in all of Major League Baseball for the 14 homruns he has hit. DUH???? How far do you have to look? If they have no faith in him, why not let be released?

Micah, keep ripping it!!! Maybe they will notice....after all you are in their AAA division!!!! Maybe they will realize they need to give you a shot!!!

Saw your Q & A interview. Keep that good attitude.

Jaxx game was suspended due to rain in the 2nd inning with the Jaxx trailing 1-0.

Iowa up 4-3. Pie has 2 RBI single's in the game.

Peoria now up 6-3. Norwood and Taylor have also homered for the Chiefs.

McGehee lined out to second with the tying run on 3rd to end the game. A few batters earlier, Coats was ejected after arguing about a 3-2 pitch that was called a strike. Quade was also tossed.

Lightenberg gave up a 3 runs (1 earned) and picked up the BS and loss. I-Cubs lose 6-5.

Peoria wins 7-6 :) Campusano blew his first save (1st in 17 chances), but the offense picked him up by scoring a go-ahead run in the 8th on a play at the plate which Muyco was safe on.
