I don't care what anyone says, Jacque Jones has been a nice signing by Hendry.

Yes, a nice signing if your sights are on creating a .500 ballclub.

World Series champs aim a tad bit higher.

If we had a thumper in left and a better run producer in CF, Jones would be perfectly adequate in RF.

Too bad we don't.

Having said that, there wasn't much else available this past offseason (which wouldn't have been an issue had Hendry signed someone last offseason).

Yes, yes. There's never anyone available. That's why we suck.

..........I'm goading you because I know you know better.....

Hey, I am blaming Hendry for this mess. But who else was available this last offseason (and I don't want to hear Giles)? Hendry messed up this year's OF last offseason.

Put your finger down and run around the bases Jacque. We're still losing at home to the reds.

sorry Tiger, but I hardly fault Jones for that one. he ran, didnt taunt, just raised his finger (#1 style) in celebration

It doesn't matter to me if it's taunting or celebration, you look stupid celebrating a home run that doesn't even give you the lead.

What if it ties a game?

I think a nod is acceptable celebration for a game-tying homer. Perhaps a hop and a skip.

lol you kids are unbelievable

He messed up alot of things, including the decent minor league situation we used to have.

Fred, shouldn't Zambano have 6 innings? Right now it adds up to 8.

Got to love the over-managing lefty/righty match ups. It's LaRussa like.

A wise man, almost as wise as Francis Bacon, once said: "Don't mistake activity for achievement."

Dusty thinks he's earning his $4 million by using every one on the roster every game.

Abuse that arm, Dusty!

It's not the number of appearances that hurts pitchers, it's the number of pitches thrown; and I don't think Aardsma throws that many pitches when he has come in.

An unrelated note: I can't believe that Barrett strikes out on an 0-2 pitch, when he swung at three balls. I've said it a thousand guys, but he has little baseball smarts.

Amen to that.

And when he was on FOX Saturday, he suggested they still have one of the better farm systems in the game. Just like most Cubs fans, Hendry overvalues his prospects.

Jones didn't really hit well until May. Once he started the rest of the team quit. Pierre has been the lineups biggest problem.
