What the hell... how is that a hit?!

It's always a hit when an outfielder loses the ball in the sun like that. Especially if it doesn't hit his glove.

Except the ball did seem to hit his glove.

Errors are so friggin' arbitrary that they are almost meaningless.

No it missed his glove.

It was scored correctly.

Except it could have easily been called an error. There are no hard and fast rules as to what is a hit and what is an error. It's purely judgement.

It's a moot point anyway, as Z allowed the basehit to Betemit. But I hope they go back and change the call. Zambrano doesn't deserve the earned run.

Betemit, pinch hitting for Hudson, doubled to right field

Bentiment.

Game day spells it Betemit. You surely don't me to comment on your spelling, eh?

Fred=correct

All the time.

I could of sworn I saw Hudson and then I spelled Betement's name wrong.

me sorry.

And you did it again!

Originally, I had Hudson.... then went back and edited it.

Bob with an interesting theory... (he thinks the Cubs should win every game for the rest of the year.)

Not trying to continue to drag this out, but I actually think it is a rule, or at least an unwritten one. If a fielder loses the ball in the sun and doesn't make contact with the ball, it's a hit.

Michael is having a great year at the plate.

They should move him to right. Put JJ in Center and bring up a catcher.

Slappy sits.

By the way, did Beane get out of the Hudson business at the right time? He peaked at 26 and 27, was down a little at 28, then more at 29. Now he's off to a less than steller start to his age 30 season. Giving up 4 ER to the Cubs is embarrassing. Could his lack of size be wearing on him?

CUBS are 12-3 when they score 5 or more runs.

Go CUBS !!

So what you are trying to say is that the Cubs should try to score alot of runs everyday??? you may be on to something.
