Someone with more stat skills then I will have to look this up, I wonder what the cubs have done more of, hit into DP's or runs scored? Seems like a stupid question, but I fear DP's might win..

Starting the night, it was 159 runs and 44 GIDPs.

Let's turn this into a potpouri game thread:

Mavs/Spurs

What's the status of that series?

Tied 3-3, Game 7 is on TNT right now. Mavs with the early lead

I actually have the White Sox game on (waiting for Frank Thomas' first AB), and the Spurs/Mavs game on PIP. Not going to bother watching this trainwreck.

An old Marx Brothers movie with the Yanks/BoSox game in PIP for me.

Well i knew Fred would come through :D (I'm actually surprised that the margin is that big, with how many games we don't score and all..)

Thanks Fred

Jesus Friggin' Christ. Listen to this tripe by MacPhail and Muskat

MIAMI -- The problem, Chicago Cubs team president Andy MacPhail says, is simple. The Cubs simply aren't driving in runs.

The numbers back him up. The Cubs entered Monday's game against the Florida Marlins batting .151 with runners in scoring position over the last 22 games. That's a big reason why the team is 18-25, and 10 1/2 games out in the National League Central.

"You just have to do better with runners in scoring position," MacPhail said Monday before the Cubs' game against the Florida Marlins. "It's something they're certainly aware of and certainly working on, we just have to continue it through into the game."

Whats the deal with Jason Kendall. He used to be my favorite non-Cub in the NL Central, and since he went to Oakland hes been terrible.

Well, I'll be.. So we just need to score more runs? I wish I would have thought of that.

I just read that Dusty was getting an extension, what the hell is the deal with that?

We're giving an extension to a guy who isn't even at .500 yet?

I can't wait for the team to start using the "We've just faced hot pitching!" excuse.

They just need to be more aggressive. It's working wonders for Murton.

Yup our .302 OBP or .230 BA or our 40 HRs are not the problem. Now we know where the idiot trail starts. (ok to be honest, we already knew that)

Someone with more time then me want to figure out how many more runs would be scored if we hit .280 with RISP over the last 22 games.

Also, anyone want to figure out how driving in RISP would help Hill and Guzman throw strikes?

I remember reading something last week i think it was, about how Dusty has been working with Murton on his hitting and trying to teach him things... I think we know why he's been struggling recently...

That's what you get for letting Marshall's inherited runners score, an ER of your own Wuertz

yet another 4A player that we have. We seem to have an over abundance of 4A players.

Wuertz is good, we just need to let him pitch. It's overreaction after a poor outing that got him sent down last time.
