Didn't Hawk challenge Mariotti to a fight one time.

My favorite Hawk moments are when the White Sox are losing and he can't even be bothered to call the game. You can just hear him sulk through all the dead air. With the White Sox winning it all, I'm sure he's much happier these days, but probably more insufferable than ever (I make it a practice to avoid listening to him).

During the early 90's Hawk used to watch NASCAR while calling the Sox game. It came to a point where he was more interested in the NASCAR and resulted in a lot of dead air for the Sox broadcast.

I'm not sure why he stopped watching the races in the booth. He may have been told to cut it out.

Between that and his "Pierzynski hit Barrett harder" quip, Hawk is not a very secure individual.

BTW, for all of those clamoring for Steve Stone to become GM. Hawk Harrelson is a grade A example of why hiring your announcer to the front office might not be a great idea. This is the genius who decided to move his future Hall of Fame catcher to the outfield. His 1 year general manager stint was an unmitigated disaster.

Don't forget the George Bell trade

That wasn't Hawk. He did trade away Bobby Bonilla, though.

That was flat out ridigoddamndiculous. He's like a momma protecting her kids. SO sad.

What do you mean? "Barrett fell over, A.J. barely flinched." What a douche

There's nothing better than hearing silence on the Sox broadcasts, because it means that Hawk isn't blabbering and something bad just happened to the Sox.

Love to see a Cubs win today.....very nice performance by Z, and as hard to believe as it is, we had some clutch hitting as well. Now let's go get on a winning streak against the Marlins...
