BIG Z

Contreras

I'm just starting tomorrow's game thread because the schedule was way behind so I don't think Kat knows she's up to start game threads.

Scoring a run tomorrow would be nice, albeit unlikely.

Contreras will throw a no-hitter tommorow. Z will only give up 1 run, but the Cubs lose.

I am really sick of seeing that post over and over again.

C'mon Z. Be the stopper that we need you to be. We lose tomorrow and not only are we back on the losing streak but we'll at best tie the Sox for the season series.

we are on a losing streak, 3 games and losing the season series to the white soxs mean absolutely nothing.

that being said, yanked after the second hbp in the 5th, 7 so, 1 er, and a big ole "L", 1-0.

::Standing silent with back faced toward the Cubs::

My uncle, who is a Cardinals fan, said he thinks the Cubs will take tommorows game, with Zambrano going. So if you need some hope. There ya go!!

Bold prediction: No brawls tomorrow.

I actually really doubt that for some reason. The benches will clear, at least. Don't know if we'll see a punch or a Farnsworthian tackle, but the benches will definitely clear at some point tomorrow. Z! pitching without having to hit just seems like it's too good to be true after today (or yesterday for most of you I guess).

I think everyone knows better than to start something tomorrow. The White Sox are in a heated race with the Tigers as it is; don't count out the Twins or Indians yet, either. If they lose any guys to suspension because of a brawl, it could hurt them over the next few games. The Cubs, on the other hand, are still suffering under the delusion that they're in contention, so they'll likely want to avoid that, as well.

There might be a pitch thrown intentionally behind Barrett, an unintentional HBP, or some close inside pitches, but I doubt anyone gets a fastball in the ribs.

Besides, the Cubs will lose 7-1 despite Zambrano going 7 scoreless with 3 hits, 10 Ks, and 1 BB.

I highly doubt the umpires would allow a player to bean more than two hitters and I wouldn't be surprised if they started tossing people after one hbp.

A team that loves to walk vs. a pitcher who loves to walk people? We're in big trouble folks. Not a great matchup.

Contraras - 7IP 3H 0BB 0ER 8K

Zambrano - 5.1IP 3H 6BB 4ER 6K

Cubs lose 6-1

Prediction:

Zman goes off the deep end and beans Jim Thome in the 2nd inning, putting Thome on the DL for the rest of the season with a broken bone (ending the Sox chances for the Series).

A fight ensues where 3 more Cubs will either get suspended or hurt for a long length of time. We are forced to call up the entire infield from Iowa, and go on a long winning streak of 3 games.
