No, not Micah! But close . . . And I probably shouldn't have said anything about Sing and Greenberg being moved to AA. We have learned (the hard way) not to trust anything or make any plans until you see it in writing! I was just so excited for him and his family that I couldn't wait for them to post it!

Let me guess...either brother-in-law or sister-in-law..?

I hope it's true, shakeups were needed. Sing and the Iowa team have been pretty bad. Micah and Luis have been hitting pretty darn well. I hope Micah's more prepared for AAA than he was last year though.

Somehow none of the players in this thread strike me as the pretend you know something about them type. How many jollies do you really think he'd get for faking everyone out on Greenberg from AAA to AA?

I think it was a legitamate guess. I believe Micah's wife or sibling used to post here or at least lurk, which would make sense that this poster would be an in-law.

Either way welcome to the forum Micahfan, I'd like this speculation about my identity when I joined.

His wife still does post here (mainly in the Minor League forum).

Yes, I am a sister-in-law and I am in a fair amount of trouble with my mother for posting here yesterday!! So, I've been instructed to keep my mouth shut. But, before I do . . .

I don't know much about baseball. I do know a lot about Micah. And he's the only reason I even read Northside, so I didn't see any point in hiding it with my screename. He would probably prefer that we NOT post and I know he doesn't want us reading all the things people write about him! I can't even imagine what it would be like to have people writing about me and how I perform at my job on a daily basis. He is extremely modest and I know he HATES it when we come watch and the kids are all in their matching Hoffpauir t-shirts and we've made signs to wave in the stands. . . but, he knows we're going to do anyways, so there's no point in arguing.

I also know that is heartbreaking to be 8 hours away from your family and get the news that you are being moved down a level with no explanation or excuses. And I know that when you get the call to move up, (even from AA to AAA) the exhilaration can carry you 10+ hours in a car after playing 9 innings and packing up your apartment by yourself at 1 am. I also know that your heart aches for those having to be moved to make room for you, especially when it's players like Brandon and Adam, whom Micah likes and thinks alot of. But, such is the life of a ball player, right?

So, yes, I'm related. Just a sister to his wife who misses him dearly until May 26 when she can cheer him on in person (instead of via internet) all summer, who feels every disappointment, every heartbreak, every RBI, every homerun . . . a sister-in-law who prays that her son will never grow up to be a minor league baseball player!

Welcome to the forum. We all wish Micah the best, or at least I do. You're post just now is an excellent glimpse into what it's like to be a minor league baseball player. Micah is living a dream that many of us wish we could.

And in regards to that last line, if he wants to live the dream, hope and pray that he does get the chance. I wish that god had blessed me with more talent to play the game that I can only watch and appreciate.

When you speak with Micah or if you get the chance to pass on the message through his wife, wish him all the luck in the world. I encountered him when the DJaxx played in Mississippi and he was extremely personable and friendly. He's an easy player to cheer for and I wish him the best.

(Also...I'm happy that my guess was right. I meant nothing facetious in the guess as one poster implied.)

I don't know why you should be in trouble. Undoubtedly you know your sister also posts here, and Sean Gallagher's father has posted here as well, so it's not like you're the only relative of a Cubs' minor leaguer to post here. We get interesting insights that way.

That's a mean mommy. Let the kid live! That's about the best opportunity most any young ballplayer can hope for. There's always time for real life later.

I wish I didn't have a real life.

Seemed to slide quickly down hill after the sister-in-law line. Maybe I should have quoted '"I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate."' instead. Neither here nor there though.

Welcome from the implying poster as well.
