I wish they had an ignore button for an entire section.

They do; it's on your mouse.

Point taken, but there was no other purpose of this thread then to troll.

Hey, I thought you Cub fans whose team is getting crushed every day would enjoy this clip of some of good ole' Al's more important HRs. But I'm not trying to boast or rub your noses in it at all.

By the way, ain't Al swell?

I understand how people feel about Cards fans rubbing it in on our bd., but I pretty much know all of the Cards fans who post here and like them, so I guess I don't worry about it. Moreover, the fact that we stink has nothing to do with the Cards, so I can't be upset with their fans. I save my angst for the Dusties and JHs.

It could be the point of this thread, I guess, but I'm not getting that vibe.

I'm not saying that posting this is trolling...but it is in bad taste. Either the poster intended to troll or they're just clueless. I'm not sure which.

C'mon, naive maybe, but not clueless. I'm kinda surprised at the reaction, frankly.

Naive is probably more accurate than clueless.

I really didn't have a strong reaction either way, but I can see why some would. The post doesn't really add to the forum. It's not an informative post; it's basically a glorification of Albert.

I just don't see the point in posting it on a Cubs forum. Naive is probably an accurate assessment.

Lots of posts aren't informative and don't really add to the forum. That doesn't make it trolling. Pujols is an amazing talent and I'd want to share him with the world if I were a Cards fan or maybe only not a Cubs fan. I suspect that's all this was.

There is no way this thread was done with good intentions. Excessively lame, IMO. We're all well-aware Pujols is good; it's not like I was on the fence and needed to see some video evidence. JDE knew that and knew the last thing Cubs fans want to see is a Pujols montage. Yet he/she registers, presumably specifically to post that. Profoundly lame.

We've lost 12 of 14, we suck, and this he/she pulls this? For some reason, I'm really irritated.

I'm trying to think of a comparable retaliation, but I don't think a montage of Pierre rolling out to the 2B would have quite the same effect on a cards fan.

Weak weak weak.

Weak.

I'm irritated.

Go back to cards talk.

Well, if JDE were trolling, we've made it a resounding success.

For that I am eternally sorry. I should know better. It's real hard to have self-control when the Cubs are playing this bad. :-# :-#

I really wasn't trying to troll. But, I do apologize for the post. Now that I look back, it could have been taken as a knock on the Cubbies. However, it was not. Pujols is a great player, not just for the Cards, but for the game. I want to add too, how much of a fan I am of Santo. I bought "This Old Cub" last year and can say that all Cub fans are blessed to have this guy represent your team. There isn't a better human being out there and there isn't a more deserving HOF either. I listen to him and Hughes every game and the intensity they bring is as good as it gets. You know, win or lose, Wrigley Field and the Cubs personifies baseball, along with the Cardinals, Red Sox, Yankees and White Sox. So, go STL, CHC, NY and BOS.

You're ok in my book JDE. Feelings on this board are pretty raw right now, and even under the best of conditions it's about the most sensitive group of males I've ever seen.

For the record I didn't watch the video .. all I have to do to see Albert hit some bombs is recall any number of Cubs Cards games I've watched :(

My first post on here was a poll (in the wrong forum no less) asking posters "If they thought the Cubs were better or worse then the Cardinals". I'm sure some users thought I was trolling (and rightfully so) but I wasn't.

Seriously JDE, stick around.

Was it in the middle of a horrible time for the Cubs? And was the poll phrased Aren't the Cardinals way better than the Cubs? Cause that would be analogous.

I think it was, I don't really remember. I got an email from a mod about it.
