I just figured that I might as well join the "Bash Dusty Baker By Starting A New Thread Every Couple Days That Calls For His Firing" BandWGN.

There is absolutely no other point to this thread.

This thread is perfectly legitimate.

"Dusty is a Horrible Manager" is an undeniable fact.

Dusty's continued presence casts a pall over the organization. The quicker he goes, the sooner we can start to heal.

ok I dont know how it is Dusty's fault when the players are not getting the job done. It is real easy to blame Dusty for something but actually it's the players not preforming. So before you consider firing Baker you look at the players and go from there.

You can't fire the whole team, obviously. And the egregious lack of exeution and fundamentals that has pervaded this team has been going on for Dusty's entire tenure. That falls on the coaching staff. Of course Dusty will tell you that isn't his fault, and to go talk to the coaches.

This isn't Club Med, and someone has to be held accountable for something. Dusty is apparently unwilling or unable to hold his coaches and players to task for crap that is easily fixable yet has continued for the better part of four years.

The injuries and performance excuse has some weight, but the piss poor execution, approach(both on the mound and the plate), fundamentals and in-game management have finished the job that the injuries started.

This team is a couple years overdue for a real shakeup.

It is however Dusty's fault that his highest OBP guy was hitting 8th today. Just one of many dumb decisions he makes on a regular basis.

If the Cubs are losing tomorrow when Baker comes out of the dugout to make a pitching change, how badly is he going to get booed?

It's cute that you said "if".

D'oh! One minute!

This is extremely disappointing. I only started this thread so it would get locked. BLAST!!
At least you got something. I merged it with the similar thread started shortly before yours.

How bad must things get before something is done? FIRE BAKER NOW.

Yes, firing the manager has always been the surefire cure in the past.

I'm not even a big Dusty fan but what manager is going to make chicken salad out of this mass of chicken crap?

Take a deep breath and count the number of managers this team has been through in the past 20 years. Then think to yourself, has the problem always been the manager? If you answer yes, then I think you are kidding yourself.

Just because Hendry did an incompetent job (again) of putting together a decent team doesn't absolve Baker of the myriad of idiotic decisions and poor coaching he's responsible for.

Baker is a bad manager. This team isn't talented, but should be playing better than they are. Baker does not consistently put his players in situations to succeed.

Also, keep in mind Dusty went to Hendry and asked for players with speed who could catch the ball. Thus, we went out and traded 3 players for a leadoff hitter who can't hit, overpaid criminally for Jones, brought back his security blankets in Rusch and Perez, and traded another player for Freddie Bynum, who is worse than Jose Macias was.

Dusty is as equally culpable for the constructoin of the roster as Hendry is.

Dusty again employs his mastery of the deflection technique...

Dusty[/url]"]“You hope to get less (stuff) actually. We’re going home licking our wounds. We’re not going home to more wounds. We’re going home to heal.

“You look around. Look at Houston. They lost six in a row. It’s going to happen to everybody.”

Psst...Dusty....you're 4.5 games back of Houston. There is a difference.

He'd make a great politician. Just a steady stream of excuses....

I predict that the outfield will be littered with trash from the bleachers at least once this weekend.

I agree. Things will be ugly at home.

Also, this will be the newest excuse for poor play.
