No argument?

Hey, man. You don't throw the fish back after your girlfriend makes you walk past a house with a dog in the front yard.

Is that a parable?

Great, now we have Jones batting instead of Murton. Good Move Dusty.

Fire Dusty. Fire Jones. Fire Neifi.

tommorrow.

This crapola of a team needs some overhauling.

I no longer understand the criticism of Perez and Jones and Pierre. These guys were not stellar players immediately before their arrival to the Cubs so why would we think they'd be better? I understand criticizing good players who are playing subpar like Ramirez, Walker (of late) and Zambrano, but why criticize sucky players? If anything, Hendry should get severe criticism for signing these guys. What percent of people on here were in favor or re-signing Perez and signing Pierre and Jones? If I remember correctly, it was low.

I think it's been pretty well established of late that when we attack Jones, Perez, Rusch, Pierre, etc, we're really criticizing Hendry by association.

Why should anyone be critical of good players who slump? That makes less sense than expressing disapproval for bad players who are being bad.

Our good players aren't slumping, they're just not playing smart baseball. When you go down meekly after swinging at a first pitch breaking pitch that's stupid baseball. Hitting the ball hard and right at someone is a slump. Swinging at eye high fastballs is playing stupid baseball not a slump. Jones, Pierre and Perez just plain suck. I'm not even going to start in on Hairston's futility. But there's one constant with all these guys --- they're all brought in by Hendry. To the sports "experts" who continually state that Hendry is a good GM, how then would you describe Walt Jocketty?

the 12 million dollar man looks sharp tonight.

IF you think he's never gonna have a shaky outing, Im not sure why. Not sure why you included the 12 Million in there either. He's been great all year. Just sounds like a smart ass comment because he gave up one of Hill's runs.

sorry. he was awesome. the money spent on him should definitely have not been spent on a serviceable outfielder.

Yea that's what I said.

Wait a second that's not what I said at all. He's been great all year and actually earning his money. Sorry he gave up an ER for your boy.

I don't think the money he spent on Eyre in anyway stopped Hendry from getting an outfielder. The money he spent on Rusch/Neifi/Jones could have easily gone to an outfielder.

Clearly this is lost on you though.

eyre's been fine, but he's not worth the money. he's gonna have to be unhittable to earn that kind of money pitching four innings a week. it has nothing to do w/ him giving up hill's run...when hill went back out for the 7th, i knew he was going to give up more runs.

i will say that that's not how eyre should be used, so i guess i owe eyre a cyber apology.

I wonder if the Giants' PA system will play Babe by the Styx as Barry rounds the bases after 714?

at least we faced a great pitcher tonight, at least we didnt lose to Jeff Fassero

Chan Ho Park was throwing a no no against us for 5 innings. Chan Ho Park. That fact alone should make Jim blow this offense up.

Well I don't think you owe Eyre a cyber apology, I just had no idea where that 12 million dollar comment came from. I was merely attempting to point out that Eyre is one of the few players actually earning his paycheck this year and commenting on the tone of your post.. Eh. Who cares. This team has sucked the will out of me to even argue anymore.

More and more recently, I have found myself wishing that I could just have a one on one conversation with Hendry, and simply try and reason with him. I just want to know what exactly it is he is thinking.
