not neifi's fault. hill could have tagged him or beat him to the bag.

i was thinking that too, but hill slowed up b/c he thought neifi would be there.

A secondbaseman with normal sized legs could have gotten to first on time. I totally blame Neifi.

But Neifi still should've been there.

no, he should have been where he was in case hill couldn't get to the ball.

Hill's job isn't to race to the bag if he fields the ball. The first thing he did was look for a guy covering.

just a reminder to everyone..SF's bullpen is the worst in the majors based on ERA.

of course they don't have Fassero anymore, but still, it's not over yet.

What's Schmidt's pitch count?

And when he sees that NOBODY is covering, he needs to go for either the bag or the line to get the player. Sure, in the end it didn't hurt us, but still, this team shows time and time again that it is LOST on the field.

What does everyone think about Hill's performance thus far tonight?

He's looked good considering the circumstances (bonds going for 714). Can't expect much better considering his experience.

Walker, Neifi and Hill all went for the ball. Someone should've covered first.

But yeah, I don't think you're arguing tha Neifi is actually good, so I won't worry about it anymore. I really don't care enough.

I agree this would matter, if we had any offense whatsoever.

Cubs have scored 1 run on a homerun tonight.

SF has scored three runs with a sac bunt, infield hits, etc.

Clearly small ball beats power every time.

We need to add more team speed and bunt in the first inning more often.

I've been happy with his performance. I wish the Cubs has an offense to speak of right now..............he might even have a chance at a win.
