1. Seeing Z face Bonds. I have a feeling if Bonds hits #715 off him, Z will drill him in the head the next AB

2. Kerry Wood coming back - while reading that gameday thread I thought he was gonna have 27 K's

Hopefully when Woody gets back, we improve

If that happens, Z might become the first pitcher to ever charge a hitter before throwing a single pitch.

When Wood comes back, is he going to provide the offense too?

Not by much, but Yes..he's a better hitter than Guzman or Hill.

That makes him better than Hairston, too.

Which by default puts him above Brynum.

I heard a rumor that Henry Blanco is an amatuer hypnotist, and he's working on a way to make Kerry Wood believe it's the NLCS Game 7 each time he goes up to bat.

Ahh, the transitive property at its best.

Not really, but it will provide a bit of an emmotional boost to the club. I really doubt these guys are going to only score 1 run a game for too much longer.

Are you predicting more shut-outs?

I am.

(naively) From Wood and Prior, yes...

i don't care how big of a piece of crap Bonds is. it's not funny to hit a guy in the head regardless of whether the roids have given his head an extra layer of cover.

as for kerry, with the way Marshall and Maddux are pitching, this rotation could be real good.

Wood is probably a more potent hitter than our entire bench.

3. Seeing Pie called up to replace Pierre in Center Field.

Guz is giving up 715.
Not unless Bonds is traded to San Diego. Guzman's next start is Friday, which is the first game of a home series against the Padres.

It would be Bonds fault if he got hit in the head though...he's juiced up so much that his head is so massive, it has it's own gravitational pull! I'm just waiting for the day he pulls a baseball into an orbit around that huge nug of his.
