Bruce speculates on Millar or Conine.

It’s well within the realm of possibility the Cubs could get something done with Baltimore for either Kevin Millar or Jeff Conine.

Link.

I don't know how much help they would be considering both of them have low .200 avg.

So does Aramis...but you have to expect that their average will move towards the mean. But in these guys cases, the mean isn't that great either though...

Millar could give a huge lift.

And the Cubs continue their trend of selling low and buying high.

??

lee, walker, ramirez, murton, dempster and barrett were bought high?

Bruce please be wrong in this instance.

Millar is awful. Plus he would have to make the adjustment between leagues, so he would be doubly awful.

Conine is interesting. Could provide a platoon at 1b to help with the lefties everyone is throwing at us.

But the problem still remains the same....3b.

3B is a problem, but it's hardly the problem. Even if Ramirez was playing great, he's not making up the difference in a lot of these blowout losses.

Well when your lead off hitter is on 4 times in a game and he cant score, something is seriously wrong in the 3 and 4 slots in your order.

.205 is ridiculous.

How many times has Pierre done that? It's not like he's made a routine of getting on and being stranded. Even at his best Lee would leave guys on base in bunches.

But one of those times, the lead-off hitter got himself picked off second base.

A leadoff hitter with a .308 OBP is seriously wrong as well.

You cannot seriously tell me that you think Ramirez' start is anything but a slow start. You think he's "The" problem with our team?

Kevin Millar plz. I'd rather have Millar at 1B and Walker at 2nd than Mabry/Hairston/Bysuck/Neifi starting.

Ok...its been approx. 3 weeks since DLee went down...my phone isn't ringing off the hook to indicate we've got offense.

What are the odds Hendry makes any move at all to fill this hole? The real falacy in any argument agains it is the thought that we only need this help for 6 more weeks...anyone how has seen this team hit (or not hit) recently knows that DLee isn't the only thing we need back.

Mr. Hendry, please get us some offense....The Mets just lost their #5 starter, surely you can find something that works with them....

Victor Diaz, potential RH platoon partner with Jones.

Career line of .304/.352/.486 in the minors. Had a nice start to big league career but hit a bump. Still just 24. Has a chance to be a solid major league bat, most likely will never be a star.

Similar story to Jerome Williams when you think about it.

Julio Franco (or one of his grandchildren).

I would love to get Victor Diaz (since the Mets have no interests in trying to get him playing time) and I believe Jerome Williams or Rich Hill would be enough to get him. And with the Mets pretty much refusing a rotation spot to Aaron Heilman, this kind of deal would make sense to both teams involved.
