does ja really think Currie and Mohammand will carry us?

Well Bradley looked real good last year, hopefully he will be healthy this season (I hate saying that)

Well, Angelo has completely baffled me. So I guess his plan is to build a defense that has so much depth while leaving the offense (which ranked 29th) alone. Makes sense to me

Dolphins coming up. Lots of good WRs still on. I know Saban likes Aromashodu a lot, but he may still be there in the fourth. Wonder if he'll wait or take one of the other receivers with the #82. Still some good DL and OL left, as well.

And my satellite gets knocked out again right before the Dolphins pick. *sigh*

Derek Hagan, WR, Arizona St. Looks like good value. Scott Wright had him as the #4 WR available. More of a possession type, but really poished route runner with quickness out of the cut, but not much playing speed. Interesting.

I thought we had finally turned this drafting thing around with Tommie Harris, Vasher, Tillman, Chris Harris and Briggs. But today was miserable. The worst part is, we could have picked up Mercedes Lewis in the first round, Hestor in the second, and Manning would most likely have still been there for us in the 4th. If Manning was really important to them, do the trade down, get Pope, and get Manning instead of the DT in the third.

I just went to pick up a pizza and I heard the Angelo press conference on the score. He said he didn't address tight end because it wasn't a "need" and he doesn't think we have any "need" positions on offense. He said he is very happy with the offensive player we already have and took the best available players to help the defense since there wasn't one specific position on the team that was a "need".

That's the funniest thing I've read all day.

I feel for you guys, Bears definitely should have drafted offense.

Picks 88-89 coming up, I think we'll take a WR and an OL or DL.

did he define "need"? cuz by my definition, we gotta hoooole lotta them on O

We don't have a "whooole lotta" needs on offense, but we definitely needed a TE, and another WR wouldn't have hurt. Our o-line is good, we're set at RB and QB. Our defense is fine how it was. Manning or someone wouldve been fine in the later rounds, but not now. Angelo messed up big time.

Wow. I understand that the Bears have had good luck with sleepers and/or small school guys (Urlacher, Harris, Tillman), and bad luck with big-name/big school early draft picks (Enis, Salaam, Terrell) but come'on!

Big Mo Stovall goes to Tampa Bay. Good pick by Tampa, it's just a shame that I now have to hate him.

He didn't define "need", but he and Lovie both said that because of the good players we have throughout the team, they didn't feel they were "held hostage" by a certain position they had to fill in the draft, so they took the guys they liked. They said these three players have some sort of intangible "competitiveness" that very few players in the draft had, and that no players left in the draft have because the Bears took the last three available. He said some people might think not taking a tight end is a "head scratcher" but since it isn't a need position, he decided not to take one because he is happy with the tight ends on the roster already. What's Brad Smith's status?

I saw a piece on him on Outside the Lines the other day that made me think he'll get drafted somewhere today.
