come on, pierre. you should be the last guy with 2 Ks on the night.

Dontrelle is a tough lefty. Pierre doesn't normally strike out

pierre caught willis on the side regularly when he was in florida. he shouldn't be getting fooled like he is, especially after watching the guy pitch for years.

Glad to see Willis having a down year hitting wise. Hopefully he starts hitting just in time for when the Marlins play the rest of the NL Central.

Just gotta tip your hat to a great pitcher.

Nah, i think they need to check the ball. Gamesmanship ya know.

I read that too but I think it's different when you face him with a bat.

Is there ANY situation where you guys like the sac bunt?

Fast forward the same situation 5 innings.

Why does one run later mean more than one run now? A run is a run; I'll take one in whatever inning I can get it in.

If you play for one run that is the best outcome you can expect.

You should only play for one run if you know that is all you will need (i.e., late in a game)

IMO, it wasn't horrible, merely bad.

Barrett is one of the better hitters on the team

Dontrell was having problem with control (as evidenced by the walk and then groving one to Murt).

JJ was in the hole.

Exactly. I understand the conditions. But Barrett is the team's 3rd best hitter and in the 5th slot, an RBI slot. And I especially hate a bunt after a walk.

1. Pitcher could be wild and could give you a free base.

2. Pitcher could groove one not wanting to walk another batter.

Nice.

I hate the Cardinals with each passing year and each passing post by K-town.

More likely he'll get injured and not only won't be able to hit but also won't be able to pitch, then will return just in time for the next Cubs series and fire a two-hit shutout to put the Cubs a key game further back in the divisional race.

Because the marlins have 5 innings to get that run back. in the 7 or 8 they have less outs.

but if the Cubs didn't get the run, the Marlins would have had 5 innings to take the lead, I like 1 run lead with our pen + the conditions.

True, the conditions make it more digestable. It still tastes bad but im not vomitting.

I can't beleive some of you guys. We're complaining because of how we got a RUN!!? Yikes!!

Come on guys Barrett has been in a mini funk the past 3 games and just doing something positive, i.e bunting successfully leading to a run later on can get a guy out of that funk sometimes.

whats with our pitchers being scared of Dan Uggla?

Well I don't know if this fully explains it, but he is really Uggla.
