According to Cubs.com, Prior threw 25 pitches to hitters today and will throw a session on Sunday.

Wood, however, stopped his warmup session and didn't throw a simulated game yesterday because of some tightness under his arm. He's scheduled to throw another simulated game but that will depend on how he feels when he throws tomorrow. Of course, this means that we probably can't expect to see him back until mid-May now.

One word. Cortisone.

For what?

For Wood, if his arm hurts. No more setbacks. I don't know if that or something else would help him, I just want him to keep pitching. This is no excuse to push things back. Z gets these things all the time and doesn't even come out of the game sometimes, let alone miss time.

I guess so he can throw a few more simu-towel-games before having another surgery.

This isn't even a shoulder issue. It's also not much of an arm issue, although the article was a little vague.

Like most pitchers, I don't believe Wood does the towel drill.

I don't recall too many pitchers having surgery in the under arm area before.

Tried to tell you all---don't get your hopes up. Not with Prior either.

Honestly, if you want to be an uber-pessimist, that's fine. But you don't have to preach it like the gospel. We can all see what is going on, and don't need people exacerbating our existing frustration.

If you want to vent, that's fine. But the "I told you so" BS is really annoying.

Funny thing was that Len said time for some good news and then proceeded to talk about Prior's 25 pitches and Wood not throwing. Hard to see how that is good news.

Let's just shoot these horses already and be done with it.

Just kidding. Maybe Wood's setback today was just him being conservative. That's fine with me.

I'm done being consevative. this is like an abused wife going back to the abusive husband, over and over.

the cubs are killing me.

Feeling a twinge under your arm?

I know I am.

Seriously though, 25 pitches for Prior? That doesn't seem remotely close to starting a major league game. How much does it seem like he has left? Seems like over a month to me based on Wood's progression.

Wood, Prior, Lee....

Just write this whole damn year off, call up a bunch of kids, and plan for 2007.

Why so we can all get hurt again?

I hate my cubs-related life.

There are reports out there that Wood just has a low tolerance for pain.

In other words.

He's a wimp.

Sorry to have annoyed you. I will cut the "I told you so" B.S. immediately.

It *definitely* seems like some people on this board won't accept any criticism of the Cubs whatsoever no matter what happens. Not singling anyone out----just seems that way. And that's fine too. But there needs to be some balance to the discussion when catastrophies like Wood & Prior or Lee happen. These are crushing blows. CRUSHING. Some like to ignore them and move on. I don't. And I don't see how either view should be attacked. Seems like people who try to say "things are not good" around here get attacked and labeled. I think that's completely unfair, especially in our current situation.

I think there's a difference between doing it for certain situations and doing it constantly.

The difference with your statement was not just the "I told you so" but the "don't get your hopes up." You don't want people here dictating your

thoughts and emotions and neither do the rest of us.
