Would we want to take it? I think he makes 12 this year and next. And first base is the only position he can "play", and he's pretty brutal there. So once Lee is back, you've got a 12 million dollar PH.

 

He is a good hitter though.

 

I wish we would have gotten Craig Wilson. He can play 1B, and when Lee returns, he could platoon w/ Jones. I doubt he'll be traded now, though, with the casey thing.

I'm sure they do, but then what do the Cubs do when Lee returns? His salary bumps to 12.5m with a trade, and is guaranteed thru 2007. He's got a limited no-trade, and would be tough to move even this next offseason. And you can't pay that much for a backup 1B.

Very injury prone and that contract realitve to how much he will be playing when DLee returns!!! I would stay away.
