This is so vintage Maddux. If he goes all 9, I am digging up an old "Countdown til Maddux Option Vests" thread.

because maddux never made three consecutive good starts last year

Not this good.

Did he?

Maddux: 87 pitches

I'm assuming he is done for the night...

Kind of wished he'd go 9.

how can greg pitch like this with dummy barrett catching

It helps when not many of them get on base to begin with.

He did have back to back complete games, then wasn't worth a crap for 4 starts though.

Let Maddux go complete! Pinch hitter, Furcalcoholic, and Lofton are all due up in the 9th.

Furcoholic?

Him and Ponson are the league leaders in DUI

Someone needs to make Maddux's vintage starts at 40 relate to the movie "40 Year-Old Virgin"

Hm... "40 Year-Old ________"

Who was that one pitcher that got popped in the head by a screaming liner, that caused him to be bloodied up on his head?

Was that Steve Cartlon?

Nolan Ryan

No, that was Robin Ventura stupidly chraging the mound and getting sufficiently pummelled by Nolan.

Nolan Ryan took a Bo Jackson line drive to the face and continued to pitch. I'll find a picture of it.

Great line by Scully...

"He might as well bring chalk and a chalkboard out there with the way he's pitching."

Maddux is taking them to school.

Except for "Tad" and "Jack", I've really enjoyed listening to him. I don't know that I've ever heard him before.

what are you new?

A few DUI convictions (not sure if he's been convicted, but he's no stranger to DUI arrests) for Fookie.

If you think Barrett is calling the pitches with Maddux on the mound you haven't been following baseball very closely.
