How so?

 

Alou raked, but couldn't play D or run the bases. Jones can play D, can't get on base, but is fairly adept on the basepaths.

Alou's bat was pretty good for the last year and a half of his contract, but before that he was extremely unimpressive.

 

It was a bad comparison in retrospect, the DP just brought back memories of a time when Alou came to the plate witha runner at first and guess DP and you'd be right at least 50% of the time. Or at least it seemed that way.
