If there's one positive out of this, it's nice to see Williams not sucking.

Especially since he'll be starting for Rusch next game.

Williams is joining the rotation in the 5th spot on April 15th. We're still stuck with Rusch, who's scheduled to go again on the 16th.

What do you think the odds are that Guzman gets the call up to pitch for Rusch?

Don't go and get my hopes up.

If Rusch has another terrible outing and Guzman continues going well (I believe he went 5 scoreless, with 5K in his first outing) I believe it'll be impossible not to replace Rusch with Guzman.

I don't know remember Estes in 2003?

Baker to learn from mistakes? Ok, impossible, we're stuck with an automatic L in the rotation.

Now we thank the dear Lord for the invention of licquor and wait until tomorrow.

Amen brother! I'm outta work and off to my local pub to forget this game. Can we sue the Cubs for destroying my liver?

I can't believe that Ohman only threw 12 pitches. At least he gave the reds value for each pitch. Sheesh.

Good to see Williams and Wuertz have pretty good back 2 back outings. And its nice not see Williamson, Eyre, Howry & Dempster in this game.

McDonald's for making people fat and Phillip Morris for people getting cancer have worked. Why not the Cubs? They give us false promises of a good season all the time and it isn't true, no different than saying cigs are safe.

2 questions:

Who else got injured today besides Jock? I caught the tail end of a PC where they were talking about a sore glut and day to day.

What's the longest a SP has gone this year? Maddux?

yeah Maddux was the longest with I think 6 and 1/3. Z went 6 on Saturday.

Estes was mired in the rotation because we had to have a lefty. We have Marshall, hopefully that helps make Rusch expendable.
