And Thomas has a great mid-range jumper that should allow him to contribute next season.

Not to mention his tremendous leaping ability. There are players with excellent verts, and then there's Thomas.

Fixed

Can some one explain to me how Morrison would be able to create his own shot in the NBA? He got by in the NCAA because he was able to shoot over guys who were not all that advanced defensively or all that tall. I like his intangibles and think he could put up great numbers (especially in garbage time), but he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who could be the best player on his team.

The only questions I have about Thomas are about his size and conditioning. Otherwise, I think his ceiling and floor are both worth the risk of taking him #1 overall. He's fundamentally sound, an excellent defensive player, smart, intense, and quite fun to watch. There's plenty of growing left for him to do, but as he is right now, he could be valuable to the Bulls.

Aldridge...I just haven't liked what I've seen of him every time I've watched him. I don't think he'll become a bust or is worthless...but I have to wonder. For one, a man with his size who's had a serious hip injury is cause for concern. He's done quite well recovering from it, but will he be able to keep it healthy in the NBA? I always worry about guys who've sustained back, knee, and hip injuries when it comes to the NBA. At least Thomas injured a part of his body that doesn't play a critical role in sustaining weight, ya know? Secondly, Aldridge doesn't have the same intensity and emotion as Thomas. I know he could learn it or that it could be a non-factor, but at the same time, I really prefer guys who play with an edge, ya know?

I really like Roy, though. Safest pick in the draft, great all-around player. He's not the ideal size for a SG, but otherwise he's quite sound. If Thomas is off the board, he's the guy I want the Bulls to draft.

Bulls get pick #2 overall.

I really thought we would get #1 after Portland got hosed with the 4th pick. But I doubt that whoever it is the Bulls want will be selected by Toronto - I see them picking Bargnani or maybe even Morrison.

I'd also like to see the Bulls make a play to try and move one of their redundant bigs for a second round pick. I think there's going to be a lot of talent to be had in the second round.

The second round is a huge roll of the dice. The odds of selecting a player who can contribute anything meaningful are really small, needless to say.

Part of me is hoping the Bulls trade their picks for a good big man who can contribute right away. I'm not sure who could be had (I'm hearing KG rumors, but he might cost much more than he's actually worth...which is still a lot), but that would definitely help matters out.

I'm getting the feeling the Bulls will have Aldridge and Thomas fall into their laps. Some one like O'Bryant, Ager, or Fernandez with the #16 is plausible.

NBADraft.net is predicting the Bulls take Bargnani. I haven't seen the guy play a whole lot and only have highlight reels to go by...which inherently make him seem really good. He sounds kinda raw on the defensive end and, much like most bigs in this draft, could stand put on a few pounds.

And Redick

If Redick falls to 16, I could see Paxson taking him because he'd be the best player on the board. But he's not falling to 16; Houston, Orlando or Utah will take him first.

Redick will be there at 16...and then at 17. And probably into the 20s, thereby driving Dick Vitale absolutely insane.

He only has two NBA-worthy features: the head on his shoulders and his accuracy from long range. Beyond that, he's not that good.

There isn't a team in the league that wouldn't want him in their 9 man rotation. I'd be thrilled if he fell to us at 16

I think worst case scenario is that Thomas ends up being the next Eddie Robinson.

Thomas is a hard worker by all reports. I can't see that happening at all.

I meant a high flyer who can dunk and dazzle but can't create his own shot. Thomas is already a better defender than Robinson ever was

Stromile Swift would probably be the better comparison and he's from LSU to boot.

I'm not a Bulls fan, but I think if Tyrus Thomas is there he's got to be the pick. They can have a poor (and young) man's version of Nash/Marion with Hinrich/Thomas. Definitely some differences, but there are also some similarities.

I think Brandon Roy is going to be an impact guy early on and the upside is a little higher than some think. He would have been a great pick for them if they were a little lower, but he would probably be a reach at 2 and especially if Thomas is on the board.

Can someone tell me more about Marcus Vinicus? He's projected around the Cavs pick.

6-9, 235. Long, athletic small forward. Solid jump shot and handle. Has the raw tools to be a legit prospect. I think a shooter like Ager or Douby would be a better fit for the Cavs.

Somehow I could live with Ager being on the team, he'd be a solid replacement for Murray.

Yeah, they need someone who can knock down outside shots consistently.

Too bad Jackson got hurt, I wanted to see how well he'd do away from the Dusty of the NBA(Silas).

I've heard that comp before and think it's pretty good, although I think Thomas is much more motivated and intense than Swift.

I was reading an espn about an ad the Cavs owner took out trying to lure King James to stay a Cav. Is he a free agent this year? Aren't the Bulls 20 million under the cap? With the amount of talent they have already plus a number 2 pick and the chance to swap picks again with what will be a terrible team again next year for the Knicks the Bulls should be able to take that next step in a hurry.
