I'm not even saying this just because of this game.. (or now, in light of that 3 run bomb he just gave up), and not to take anything away from Z, but I've always sort of laughed at the notion that Z was the best of our injury-depleted "Big 3"..

Prior and Wood are definitely better (those two huge qualifying words attached, of course)... Z is still awesome though...

No. Z has the single best pitch, even better than Wood's curve with that 95 mph sinker. He is healthy and a horse and can hit .300. I'd take him over Wood and Prior in a heartbeat.

Let's not get crazy here. If and when Prior is healthy he's the most domiate Cubs pitcher and one of the most dominate in the league.

Z's already one of the most dominant in the league has been so for three straight years now.

Yeah, that's not true.

When Prior is healthy, it's not close. Wood is a much closer call, admittedly.

Prior has command. Z and Wood have much filthier stuff.

I can buy that.

I really wish the Cubs could get Carlos to slow down a little bit. At least take a breath in between pitches to compose yourself a little bit. Sometimes I think his stuff is so good that he and the Cubs just trust his pitches to move all over the place and get the batters out that way rather than having a game plan for each and every batter. Its fine to work quickly, but he's taking this way too far. Quick, but not rushed.

No, no, no, Carlos.

When you swing at strike 3 in the dirt and everyone is running off the field, you run to first! Has AJ Pierzinski taught you NOTHING?

So Z's going to pitch the 4th.

Yeah, why wouldn't he?

Wild, 70 pitches thus far, getting tatooed.

I'm not saying I'm against it but an argument could be made either way.

let's just hope he's not too tired to make it through 6.
