Assuming Pierre and Walker bat 1-2 in the lineup, should the 3-4 spots be Ramirez/Lee or Lee/Ramirez?

It will be Lee/Ramirez, just like it was last year. Also, I still think Walker will not be on the opening day roster for the Cubs. And, if that is the case you will probably see Hairston batting second and starting at second. Although I wouldn't mind Barrett getting a chance to bat 2nd. I could also see Cedeno as a guy who could develop into a good 2 hitter.

I'd be happy with either, but I think Aramis will have a bigger year. Nothing concrete as my basis, just a feeling.

I think Lee then Ramirez.

I just wish we had a real 5th hitter behind them.

I think Murton could be that guy. I think he will develop a little more power and fit nicely in that 5 spot. But I am betting Dusty will stick the lefty JJ in that spot.

I think Barrett should be that guy. 3 years batting 5th: 345/433/672/1.105

I think it makes a little more sense, Lee has more speed and would have the opportunity to score from first on balls hit in the gap, while ARam doesn't.

Pitcher

Woo hoo!

Definitely Lee then Ramirez. I think Jones will start the year hitting 5th. After he sucks for two months, Baker will move Murton there.

Dude, the catcher bats 8th, dude. Everyone knows that. Just like small fast guys bat at the top of the order.

In all seriousness, that pisses me off too.

Also, Lee really should bat 3rd. Even before his 2005 season, he was still a better OBP guy than Aramis:

OBP: Lee/Ramirez

2000: .368/.293 (only 254 ABs; not really meaningful)

2001: .346/.350

2002: .378/.279

2003: .379/.314

2004: .356/.373

And then, of course, came 2005: .418/.358

Plus, as has already been pointed out, Lee has more speed.

Lee 3 and ramierez 4. Lee has to bat 3 cause hes a better average hitter Aramis is the better RBI guy. Either way they'd be good, but I like Lee 3 and Aramis 4.

There is no such thing as a better "RBI" guy, it depends on which one gets more chances.

Ramirez also edges Lee by 1 pt in career batting average, but has batted 318 and 302 in the last two years. Lee went 335 and 278.

It doesn't really matter. Go with Lee and Ramirez to start the year, though.

The better rbi guy is probably going to be the guy with the higher SLP.

I have nothing to add, but I'm sad you changed your avatar. You had my favorite avatar on the board. Bring back breakdancing Dr. Zaius, please.

I'll be happy just to have both of them playing 150 games this year with no major injuries. As long as both of them are in the lineup, I don't think the order matters all that much.

It has an affect, but it's not great. A. Jones out-RBI'd Lee last year because of opportunities, and not a lot else.

ramirez and lee are on the same team. furthermore, the better rbi guy will be the guy that cashes in more of his opportunities - hence the guy with the higher SLP. I see your point but that wasn't what I was saying.

How many sample games is that, over how many years. Because that is interesting.

I think 58 ABs over 3 years. Nothing to salivate too much over.
