Haven't seen pics i usually see on yahoo, cubs.com etc....

Cubs.com has his audio conference with media. I think the pictures you're looking for are reserved for signings and not trades. Then again, the Cubs didn't have a formal press conference (as I'm sure you recall, they cancelled the conference but Hendry spoke about the signing singularly).

Sammy Sosa had one in Baltimore last year.

True but he was a "big name" pickup designed to rally their fan base while also distracting from the upstart Nationals.

Oh come on....you don't think Pierre can rally the Cubs fan base, and overshadow the Jim Thome acquisition. Ok...eough sarcasm.

Tejada could . . .

We're still very far away from making enough strong aquisitions to rally the fan base. This pick up is nice, but not nice enough to grant the kind of optimism we need.

Here are the pics that Yahoo has provided:

Chicago Cubs general manager Jim Hendry introduced center fielder Juan Pierre to the city on Tuesday, saying he fills a void at the top of the Cubs lineup with "one of the finest leadoff hitters in baseball over the last five years."

"He gets your offense going," Hendry told reporters after a news conference at Wrigley Field in which Pierre tried on his No. 9 jersey. "He's a catalyst. He's a disruptive guy to the other team."

Pierre is signed only through the end of this season, but both he and Hendry said they hoped a longer-term deal could be reached. "I hope to be here for a long time," Pierre said.

He looks like an 11 year old boy.

*In before Michael Jackson*

>_>

Why does his hat always look too big on him?

If nothing else, I like that everyone who comes here says that they don't want to leave. I just wish that had more to do with winning than with the atmosphere.

I believe the answer is "because he has a small head".
