If true, then the market for Walker is really drying up.

That could be a blessing in disguise.

That is a good/bad thing I guess. I like Walker and think it is foolish to try to get rid of him.

True, but Walker, if traded properly, could help us net a corner OF.

In disguise nothing. It's a blessing if Hendry loses places to trade Walker because hopefully, he will eventually realize that he's good to have around.

I really don't think there is much demand for Walker.

I really don't understand why there isn't more demand for Walker.

Soriano was traded for Wilkerson AND Sledge.

Walker's OPS was higher than Soriano's last year, and his defense is better than Soriano's.

I'm not sure why we'd want to trade Walker for Milton Bradley, who would give us Walker-like production from a corner OF spot.

1. Bradley is younger

2. Bradley is faster

3. Bradley is a better defender

4. Bradley is a switch-hitter

5. Bradley has (a bit) more power

Other than that, they're identical.....I'd rather have Bradley as my 2 hitter than Walker, by a comfortable margin. Position-specific production be damned.

Bradley is also injury prone, and a really big risk to put into the same clubhouse with Dusty and no real veteran everyday leader.

I'm really, really leery of Bradley. I like his production, but he's a bit too high risk/high reward for my tastes.

everyone keeps saying that, but who is that corner OF gonna be? the reds don't need to clear a spot in their OF, so dunn & kearns are likely staying. the phils don't need walker (w/ utley there) so he's not gonna get you abreu. and now the dodgers don't need walker, so you ain't getting bradley for walker.

the only possible fit i see is sending him to texas for mench (bad) or wilkerson (less bad, maybe even good).

hendry may just be forced to keep a cheap, productive middle infielder.

The way things are going, the Dodgers just may have a lottery to decide who gets to play where. Furcal, Izturis, Mueller, Kent, Choi, Guzman, Perez, Walker (?)

Can see them packaing Choi, Izturis and prospects for an OF. If Theo was still in Boston, they could probably get Manny for Drew.

But we can't just ignore position-specific production. If we trade Walker for Bradley, who plays second? Neifi Perez? Neifi would be a better defender at second, but the team would suffer because of Neifi's nonexistent offense.

As for the Bradley arguments:

1. Bradley is younger, but it doesn't really matter since he'll be a free agent in 2007 as will Walker.

2. Bradley's stolen base % is .66 and Walker's is .64. Neither are anything to write home about.

3. Bradley's defense is certainly better than Walker's, but he'd be playing RF, where he has been very average thus far in his career.

4. Neifi Perez and Jose Macias are also switch hitters.

5. Bradley's IsoP is slightly better than Walker's, but Walker's is significantly better than Neifi's.

All that said, I would have much rather had Bradley than Pierre. Bradley's career OBP is mighty nice.

6. Bradley is much, much more likely to miss a significant amount of time during the season because of miscellaneous jailings and court appearances.
