Orton is part of the reason, they've shrinked the play calling to a 10 yd. window b/c he sucks at throwing the deep ball. He's played better this week, yet the Bears have 3 points at the half and he has missed open receivers. He's under 50% completion and around 100 yds. with the Bears being down 10 points.

I bring in Grossman now and the defense a tongue lashing for their lazy play.

I think if you do it, you do it now to try and provide a spark for this team. I'd rather take a chance on the unknown than sticking w/futility.

They've already done enough to lose this game and their offense isn't capable of winning it. Lovie has to do whatever he can do give his team a chance to win. If he goes back out there with the same QB, he simply isn't doing that.

But he's giving the team a chance to win longterm. With this offense, the Bears are gonna have a tough shot winning it anyway. So, Grossman won't make much of a difference, unless you believe he's THAT much better than Orton....which is hard to believe he is at this moment without having played much football in 2 years. What happens if Grossman comes into this game that is looking like a loss anyway and goes down with another injury? I would guess the odds of injury increase simply due to the fact the offense is gonna put the ball in the air more than they have all year.

Actually isn't it possible for the Bears to only win 1 game, and the Vikings win out and still win the division, as long as that 1 game is against the Vikings???

The irony is that the only player playing better than they did last week is Orton, and he's the one we're talking about changing...

Which is why you don't pull him until you see what happens in the 3rd quarter.

If the Bears go down by 3 scores, put him in. If they stay close, keep Kyle in. A lot should be decided by the 1st possision of the half.

Just because Orton has improved doesn't mean that he's stopped playing badly. He's got a lot to improve to be playing average.

I don't think he's played badly at all. He's had 2 drops again today, no one gets open deep, and the defense put him in an early hole.

If we beat the Vikings, that means they didn't win out :)

Heh, I guess that is easier to say than what i put together. The only way the Vikings make the playoffs (as NFC North champions) is if they win out.

Grossman theoretically allows the offense to do a lot more than Orton does. The Steelers' defense is having an easy time predicting what's coming. The offensive line, though, is giving Orton all the time in the world right now. I don't think Grossman would have to press or face much of an injury risk.

The defense has to stop 'em here for that to even matter, of course.

Plz don't fumble, Wade.

Way to suck, Wade. Not only did you drop it, but you had absolutely no business even trying to catch it.
