OH How I LOATHE Baker.

I hate Rogers more. Sox lover just wants to diss the Cubs.

I can't stand Rogers either, but Baker's idiocy and self-serving ways directly kill this team on a daily basis.

Why? Was Dusty on the radio too?

No, but basically what Rogers said was Baker had a meeting with the media and somebody asked him what he thought about Murton and Cedeno and Baker's response was something like"If I dont play them I dont play young people." and then went on to justify how he plays young people like the bull pen and back in his days with the Giants. Typical Baker.

If he doesn't at least play Murton everyday then he should be absolutely fried in the media until he does, or until he leaves.

Baker, from Cubs.com:

"If I don't [play them], I'll be accused of not liking young players," Baker said, referring to one of the criticisms he's heard. "Look at my bullpen last year -- it was the youngest bullpen in baseball. You've got to give the young players a chance to play sometime. Certainly you have to live with some mistakes."

He gave young guys out of the pen a chance only because of a lack of viable veteran alternatives, not as a matter of choice.

Levine just said on ESPN1000 that the Cubs have 2 offers on the table to 2 different teams...1 is for Pierre, the other is unknown, but if we had to guess, i'm sure we'd all assume its Bradley.

Did he really have much choice after Fox went down? It's not like there are a ton of decent veteran arms around playing for the league minimum.

I know this is going to drive everyone nuts but my guess would be Williams was offered.

Can the Cubs match Marte for Lugo?

Such an offer would definitely anger me. Pierre falls somewhere in the area of plan D or E in my perfect 2006 CF scenario. I guess Hendry must like how Juan catches the ball. (It's just too bad Pierre can't hit it throw it that well...)

I'd be mad if they offered a year's supply of bats and batting practice balls. One or the other, and you gotta fair deal. Both, that's overpaying.

Do we want to match Marte for Lugo?

This is friggin b.s. The Mets have made eighteen deals and the Dodgers, who only in the last five minutes have a new manager, now have a brand new MIF.

And what are you up to Mr. Hendry? How's the food at the hotel? My worst-case scenario prophecy is beginning to materialize...

OK, I get it: you do not want Lugo or Pierre. Of the one's realistically left, who do you want?

I want Lugo, but Marte is a better prospect than Pie. It's not worth it for what we want him for.

Calm down, it's December 6th. To ask what he's up to is absurd. It's been widely reported that the Cubs are as active as anyone at the winter meetings.

I don't want Furcal for $13M, don't want Soriano and none of the pieces the Mets added.

The closest would be Pie for Lugo. I'd definitely pass on that and Jim would too.

That's not it at all. Well, sorta. I don't want Pierre, but he's going to be a rental considering Pie is on his way (or so says Plan A). Lugo is nice, but come on. Marte?

check these stats out:

If Chipper wasn't on the braves, there's no way this kid gets traded.

Forget Lugo, lets get Marte.

Don't you think you're being overly dramatic? Make that waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over-dramatic?

I think they need a shortstop and a leadoff hitter, both things we're fresh out of. That sucks b/c Marte is a stud.
