  1. It hasn't been brought up at all. If he's mentioned for a head coaching gig, I think he'd obviously be receptive towards that. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure he'll be around next year. The reason I'm asking, is his name is being tossed around Cowboy circles as a possible DC for the Cowboys if Garrett gets the job. He was Garrett's choice when he interviewed for the Baltimore position. Now, I'm not saying he would leave Green Bay, but Jones is known to overpay if it's someone he wants. I also know if he's under contract, Dallas can't talk to him without permission. I was just wondering if his contract was up or would he be out of the question.
  2. Can any of you Packer fans tell me if Capers is under contract for 2011 or does his contract end at the end of this season?
  3. I know a lot of people like to hate on Romo, but he's easily a franchise QB. Other than the fact he's only won 1 playoff game, he rates highly no matter what metric you use.
  4. Sportsradio 1310 in Dallas is saying June Jones turned down Maryland and is staying at SMU.
  5. If I wanted to hear stories about Mark Grace 3 hours a day, I'd go hang out with Barry Rozner. 9.1
  6. That's just Drew being Eli.
  7. Wow... Brees sure has fallen off. Second in the league in ints.
  8. How long before Lovie gets a 4-year extension based on this season?
  9. Whether or not the Panthers should trade the pick or take Luck depends entirely on what their scouts and front office people believe about Luck. I think there's little doubt he has "franchise QB" written all-over him. But, is he franchise QB in the range of Eli Manning, Matt Ryan, etc...or is he elite franchise QB like Peyton, Aikman, etc. If he's the former, I think the Panthers could be better served trying to trade the pick and see what they can get in return. On the other hand, if he's the upper echelon franchise QB to be, then I think they must take him. Those guys are so rare, you don't pass up the chance to get him. Sure there's risks, but this is where you have to trust your scouts. I've heard others say Luck is the best QB prospect since Peyton. If that's true, Carolina has to grab him.
  10. Yeah, Nomar was a great day. I don't think I've ever been that excited, except maybe how I felt when we won the divisional series in Atlanta. It's definitely my top regular season moment.
  11. Walterfootball has the Cowboys getting Prince Amukamara in the first, Rhaim Moore in the second, and Christian Ballard in the third. I would be pleased with that, though I think one of Dallas's first three picks should be an o-lineman unless that is addressed with FA.
  12. Webb and Rangers are reportedly close to a deal. Link.
  13. I just learned I'm getting Cotton Bowl tickets for Christmas!
  14. I didn't anticipate Vandy offering that much cash....Even so, Malzahn may wait for an offer from a school with a better football program. Auburn got all the key offseason free agents, so vandy had a lot of leftover money available. 8.7
  15. Sheets was in a similar situation and was able to get a 1 yr 10 million dollar deal from Oakland. My guess is that Webb will look for something similar.
  16. If the Cubs get O'Day, I hope the Oday, Oday, Oday chant follows him to Wrigley. One of the most awesome things I've witnessed in sports the past couple of years was Ranger fans chanting that during game 3 of the World Series.
  17. Yeah, that was an error in my post. I meant to say the price had gone up to $60 which is a ten dollar increase. But, yeah I went in 2007 and that year the tickets sold out in like 20 minutes. I had a good time, but the expense for me to go from Louisiana isn't worth it for me. I may go some other time, but right now the interest isn't there.
  18. One of my many encounters with Santo. He was a great guy. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/vance_the_cubs_fan/vanceandron.jpg
  19. Ron definitely deserved the HOF. This is horrible news and yeah, it's put a damper on my Friday morning. RIP, Ronny.
  20. Have they linked Bagwell to steroids yet? Then again he was winning MVPs in 1994 when supposedly the steroids epidemic wasn't in full swing. Bagwell has never been linked. I've seen some who are adamant that he's clean, but he's highly suspect to me. I think Bagwell, McGwire, Palmeiro, Alomar, Larkin, and Blyleven should get in. Of course, they won't, but I don't give a rat's ass about steroids since I just assume everyone took them, and if you're the best of the steroid era, I'd vote you in.
  21. Auburn should have paid some guys to play defense instead of spending all the money on Newton.
  22. If his goal is to coach in the NFL, then yeah at some point he'll have to settle a bit. If he wins a couple BCS titles, though, I don't think he'll have to settle too much. If he's happy staying in college indefinitely, however, and has a lot of success, he might eventually get the situation he wants. I'll agree waiting until after the CBA mess passes would be the right call. He's not going to win a BCS title at Stanford, much less a couple.
  23. While that certainly may be true, the other side is also true. If a coach wins at Dallas he will be a star on the national level. Also, Jerry will pay him well and pay for the players as well. The Dallas job for a coach is a hard one to judge. It depends on the person. Dallas is a job where you should have enough talent to win and enough resources to do whatever you want and it's the largest stage to do that as well. On the other hand, there's Jerry Jones. He's both a positive and a negative, depending on how you view things. I think a lot depends on the demeanor of the coach. For example, if you were looking to coach a team would you choose Carolina where you have to completely rebuild or Dallas where you just need to right the ship and deal with Jones?
