  1. Is he a first rounder or is there a chance he slips to the top of the second? I would love to have him on the Cowboys, but he'd have to be a second rounder for them to have a chance at him.
  2. I find this really funny. I do too.
  3. I can assure you that Dallas will not take a QB in the first 3 rounds of this draft.
  4. Would Harbaugh want to coach SF without Luck? If they somehow managed to trade up today I think he would go to SF, but I dont see that happening. Plus I don't think Carolina should pass on him either. I can't see Harbaugh basing his decision on if he could get Luck or not? Surely SF needs a QB, but this draft has a few projects. I would think he could coach one of those up.
  5. I think if Harbaugh wants to be a college coach, he should go to Ann Arbor; but, if he wants to coach in the NFL, he should take the 49ers job. I really don't know where his heart lies. The 49ers could be a good place to land. They have a decent nucleus in place and play in a division where it wouldn't take much of a turn around for them to be in the playoffs and then go from there. Good teams rarely fire their coaches, so this might be the best it gets as far as a quick turnaround.
  6. i'm not fan of the Packers, but god do I hope they beat Philly and kill Desean Jackson in the process.
  7. I would be shocked. But probably pleased. I'm getting a little tired of the Saints around here.
  8. Mangini fired. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/01/03/browns-fire-eric-mangini/
  9. On a selfish note, I'm happy to exchange the 2 preseason games for 2 regular season games. I have to buy the preseason anyway at the same price and so it would allow me to exchange a worthless preseason ticket for a regular season one. Personally, I wish the NFL would do away with the cap and give players guaranteed contracts. This would cause the owners to have to be more fiscally responsible with their contract decisions. I know people will say the NFL would end up like baseball and lose pairity without the cap, but if they kept revenue sharing where it is, I don't think it would be as bad as people predict.
  10. If you miss Green, Julio Jones will be there. Pair him with Bradford and things will get better.
  11. The only way the Seahawks beat the Saints is if they can break some huge returns on special teams and maybe they can run the ball effectively enough. Oh...and Brees will have to have a horrible game. I don't see it...but stranger things have happened.
  12. It hasn't been brought up at all. If he's mentioned for a head coaching gig, I think he'd obviously be receptive towards that. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure he'll be around next year. The reason I'm asking, is his name is being tossed around Cowboy circles as a possible DC for the Cowboys if Garrett gets the job. He was Garrett's choice when he interviewed for the Baltimore position. Now, I'm not saying he would leave Green Bay, but Jones is known to overpay if it's someone he wants. I also know if he's under contract, Dallas can't talk to him without permission. I was just wondering if his contract was up or would he be out of the question. no offense, vance, but that's a dallas crack-pipe dream. It may be, but if his contract expires, Dallas could interview him. While he might prefer GB, I'm fairly certain Jerry will pay more than GB and probably add Asst HC to his title. It's also true that Garrett wanted Capers as his DC had he taken the Baltimore job. He turned that down and GB ended up hiring Capers. Capers contract according to sources ends at the end of the season. When that happens, Dallas would be free to interview him, even if it is a lateral move. Now, I have no way of knowing whether Capers would be interested or not. Neither does anyone else without personal connection to him.
  13. In exchange for keeping his job, he's firing the defensive staff and bringing in Wade Phillips as DC.
  14. I didn't really think he would, but was hoping it'd be possible if he fell in love with the idea of a big name hire like Fisher. It was mainly me coming up with ways that the Titans wouldn't have to continue to pay Fisher if he didn't resign. That'd be really interesting. Consultant for the staff, personnel or both? I don't know what role Vermeil would play. I would think a consultant for the staff , as a sounding board for Garrett, mentor, etc. Rumor is that Jerry's biggest concern about Garrett is his lack of experience. Bringing in a consultant like Vermeil might mitigate that some. Vermeil had a lot of the same philosophies about practice that Garrett has, so it would probably work. They attempted something similar with Dan Reeves a year back, but it fell apart when Jerry wanted a clause in Reeves' contract that would state how many hours he would work each week and Reeves balked at it. They have offered a similar position to Jimmy Johnson, but he likes his relaxed schedule and FOX gig and has declined. Jimmy still unofficially consults with Jones on occasions and supposedly Garrett consults him as well. This with Vermeil would be a more formal relationship if it happens.
  15. I was really hoping Jerry Jones would fall in love with Fisher enough to enable Bud Adams to trade Fisher to the Cowboys. I think Fisher's gone after the year anyway, so it would have been nice to have another crazy owner willing to give us a pick for him so that Bud wouldn't have to absorb Fisher's 2011 salary. I don't think Jerry would have ever given a pick for Fisher. The rumors there were conditioned on Fisher either quitting or being fired. It's being rumored that Jerry had narrowed it down to those two, and that he feels comfortable working with Garrett. Also, supposedly Jerry consulted Jimmy Johnson who gave Garrett a ringing endorsement. Now, the big question is the assembling of Garrett's staff. There's a lot of talk that Garrett will want Capers as his DC if he can be lured away from GB. Supposedly, his contract is up at the end of the season if GB doesn't extend him before it expires. There's also a rumor floating around that Dick Vermeil could be brought in as a consultant.
  16. Mike sounds like the road-grading (grating?) linemen the Cowboys like. Mike would be a great choice for the Cowboys, but unless he falls to the top of the second round, I can't see them drafting him. I guess there's a chance they will trade down and could take him in the first. If he's there when they pick in the second, he would be a great pick.
  17. Looks like Garrett will be named the permanent coach of the Cowboys.
  18. Yeah, he's easily as good as his brother. I'm curious to see if the bad snaps will downgrade his perception some, even though I doubt anybody will draft him as a center. That's not true. Mike is at least a step and a 1/2 behind his brother. For one, there's a reason why Maurkice came out and Mike didn't. Secondly, Maurkice has played at an all-pro level this year and has been the best C in the AFC. Mike is only a 1st rounder if a team like Philly, Pittsburgh, or Indianapolis feel like they have to reach to get him because he wont' come back to them in the 2nd. Most websites have Mike Pouncey at a 2nd round grade right now. I think the snaps have downgraded his perception. He's now viewed as just a guard instead of a versatile OL. He also has always had questions about his athleticism and pass blocking ability. So in your opinion, he's going to go somewhere from late first to middle second?
  19. I think this might be the beginning of the Legends-Leaders curse. Change those names pronto!
  20. And there folks is the ballgame! Congrats to the Frogs!
  21. Here comes an onside kick....
  22. TCU strikes with a TD. That was a nice pass.
  23. Am I the only one here rooting for TCU?
  24. I'm becoming very impressed with Mike Pouncey as a blocker. His snaps, not so much. Move him to guard in the pros and he's going to be a hell of a player.
  25. So what round is Mike Pouncey expected to go? He's raw at center, but watching him today, I think he's going to be a great right guard in the NFL.
