  1. Up in the air. Originally the idea was for an outdoor only stadium but then you lose any chance of hosting the Super Bowl, Final Four and any kind of events/conventions/concerts when the weather isn't great. So then having a retractable roof became the main target but that's more expensive to build and get the funding for, which is the main issue.
  2. What the [expletive] is he doing living with this dude? You can still be friends with him and have him hook you up. Don't live with a guy who has been convicted on drug stuff in the past and wants to deal out of your house.
  3. Yeah that's what should happen. For all the Kansas City talk, I don't see it happening.
  4. I like this idea of the Hornets maybe moving to Chicago.
  5. Yes please. Although I want the threat of the Vikings moving to LA to remain so that we can get a new stadium.
  6. iowa will be favored against both uni and isu? Pomeroy has Iowa beating UNI by 5 and ISU by 1. Vegas has Iowa favored by 3.5 tonight over UNI. If Iowa wins tonight I would expect them to be very slight favorites at home against ISU.
  7. I think this will be one of the most fun weeks of the year for Iowa fans. This will be the only week all year that we play two games against non-cupcakes and are favored to win both. Both at home vs. in-state rivals. Also, player stats are now up on kenpom.com
  8. Every [expletive] week with the Cowboys. America cannot escape them.
  9. Good move. Now that the Broncos are out of the playoffs, you might as well start rebuilding without McDaniels. Too bad they didn't get rid of him before he drafted Tebow. Please, please, please let Coach Urban Meyer be reunited with Tim.
  10. Right now the Vikings would be drafting somewhere between 9-13. However they're only one game back from the 6-6 crowd which is between 14-19. This is an extremely tough spot. You always want a good draft slot, but especially when it appears you're going to be drafting your next QB. At the same time, losing 3 of the last 4 will probably hurt the chances that Leslie becomes the next coach. I want Newton/Mallett and I want Leslie coaching them.
  11. Thank God Rutgers didn't become relevant when it looked like they were on the brink a few years ago.
  12. Didn't Dunn want to stay there? So they chose Werth for 7/$126M over Dunn for 4/$55M or so?
  13. Good hire. He's always wanted to coach in a BCS conference and now he's going to get his chance. He did a fantastic job of rebuilding SIU and he left NIU in a much better state than what they were at before he arrived. I'd rather them have him than Chryst. Leach would have been a bit scary but they never seemed interested in him.
  14. Of course not. Hopefully the Falcons can get it done, at least. I just noticed how big of a Viking fan that we'll need to be the next three weeks. Gross. Luckily they might be playing their best football now though. I'm cool with it. Any win hurts their draft positioning too. It's a tough spot. Win and you help your division rivals and hurt your draft stock. Lose and you decrease the odds that Frazier becomes the next coach. So torn.
  15. And yet this is the most they've scored all year, and Favre has accounted for none of this. To not find this at least somewhat amusing you would have to be a crazed Vikings fan or an unabashed Favre lover...oh. The offense scoring that many points was assisted by the defense getting 5 turnovers. Tarvaris started with a pick 6, then was good for a while (helped by Rice winning two total jump balls for big plays) and then threw two bad picks. Basically it was the same as what Favre would have done. I have no idea how the Bills almost beat the Steelers last week. They were awful. The Vikings played hard and well but the Bills had 42 yards at halftime and a couple of turnovers.
  16. WTF? This is [expletive]. I wanted Nebraska. Why would the Insight pass on them? It makes no sense. An Iowa/Nebraska game would be sold out by tonight and would get higher tv ratings than Iowa/Mizzou. Settle down, hoss. Iowa will get their chance next year. I know but when you have the expectations Iowa had and in November you're looking at a possible Rose Bowl without a difficult schedule, you need something to get you excited about playing in the [expletive] Insight Bowl. Playing those clowns would have been it. Plus I think we had a better chance of beating Nebraska. Gabbert is going to complete 57 passes within 7 yards.
  17. Which is outstanding news.

  19. I'm pretty sure the guy who lost did miss one midway through. We had been drinking for most of the afternoon but watched it twice and I swear he made them all before the time ran out.
  20. By the way, did anyone else pay attention to that Dr. Pepper contest at halftime of the Big 12 game? They each got 10 throws and were supposed to have a throw-off if they tied. For some reason the counter screwed up and missed one of the makes by the dude on the right. Both guys made all 10, but they immediately just crowned the guy on the left. Guy on the right got completely hosed. The only reason we noticed is because we were watching how they both threw like girls but were making all of them. After the chick in the SEC game was using a two-hand chest pass.
  21. His reaction when Stoops figured out the fake punt and got a timeout called was pretty funny. He really wanted to find someone to blame and then eventually started yelling something like "@$#&ing snap the ball". That was hilarious. He really is just a cartoon character. Sounds like an Iowa-Nebraska Insight Bowl which is best case scenario for me. The only downside is that it's a 9 p.m. game on a Tuesday night. New Year's Day or not, that game is still a lot more attractive than playing Tennessee in the Gator Bowl or South Carolina in the Outback.
  22. Bad spot. Those never get overturned though.
  23. K-state only up 3 at Washington State with 4 to go.
  24. Where is Nebraska going if they lose? I've read that if they lose they might be playing Iowa in the Insight or that the Big 12 could be putting the screws to them on their way out.
