  1. Wake is only up 3 on Hampton with 7 minutes left on ESPNU. They lost to Stetson in their opener. Iowa is bad but they could steal one for the Big Ten there.
  2. The real reason it's there is because Brent and Kirk will be doing the Ohio State/Iowa game. Nope, it's McDonough and Millen doing the Iowa game.
  3. I, for one, don't know how anybody could have any idea that the Brett Favre experiment would come back to bite Minnesota in the end. Eh, it was still worth it. They don't have the year they had last year without him and he played well enough to win. He hasn't been good this year but with the secondary and WR injuries, I don't know how far they'd go even if he were repeating 2009. If this year gets Frazier in and Bevell/Chilly out it's not all bad.
  4. Kevin is still really good. Pat is just too old. This is his last year. Plus E.J. isn't fully back to what he was before his injury.
  5. How? Smith threw up a wounded duck with his receiver 10 yards away from the ball and Atogwe ran into him. I agree I thought that was a terrible call. Both the WR and Atogwe are running to the near sideline. Smith throws the ball 10 yards behind him on the hash. So just because Atogwe isn't able to stop on a dime and immediately change directions that's PI? There's no way the WR was going to get to that ball.
  6. They gave up 155 to the Jets in Week 4. They gave up 122 to the Pats a few weeks ago, but not quite 130. Yeah our run defense has been a shadow of it's former self this year. It really took a dive quickly.
  7. troy smith is good? He is today.
  8. Yeah upon further review you guys are right about the shank int. I turned the channel in disgust without seeing a good replay.
  9. Iowa loses at Northwestern. Vikings lose at Bears. Iowa loses to SDSU. Fantasy teams look like they're going 0-2. Worst weekend ever.
  10. Fumble was on him, then it was a tipped ball at the line and two guys falling down. Would they just switch to field turf already? Every year that's the worst surface in the league.
  11. Good win for you guys. Your defense was impressive. After the first quarter they shut down the run. Our offense could do nothing in the second half. Adrian and Shank both had bad games and we need Sidney so badly. Your special teams ensured that you had awesome field position all day. Let the Childress watch begin.
  12. Come on, that was a textbook chop. High lowed him
  13. I thought Lito deflected the ball on that int.
  14. Sullivan will be a huge loss. O line has been worlds better with him and he ate up 54 on adrians big run. Berrian may be out also.
  15. Is this field going to be in shitty condition again? KFAN is saying that the grass seems to be cut really long for an NFL field. I don't care how long it is as long as there aren't 19 people falling down like usual. Asher Allen who has been starting at CB (for Ced Griffin who is out for the year) is out today. Rookie Chris Cook is starting at RCB. He was a beast in training camp and the preseason but then had a knee injury and missed the first couple games. Came back and looked great in the Lions game, injured meniscus in his other knee and hasn't looked good in the 3 games he's been back. Lito is probably the nickel and he's been a bum for most of this year, Frank Walker who was a street free agent will be dime. Long story short, don't expect much blitzing from the Vikings. They'll give some cushion and give up underneath stuff. They haven't gotten beat deep much this year but it will all depend on if the front four can hurry Cutler. With this and Sidney not being able to go... ah [expletive] it Vikes 27 Bears 20
  16. How has Peppers looked against the run this year?
  17. What a bunch of clowns on the field and in the stands at Auburn. Don't worry this will all be vacated soon and your program will be buried. I wish the Vikings could draft Aaron Murray in April.
  18. Every [expletive] year.
  19. Ball game. Our red zone struggles without Sid + the Bears defense = lots of frustration
  20. If Iowa loses to these motherfuckers again... They're not good this year, their weaknesses align with Iowa's strengths and there's no trap or letdown aspect to this game. Money guys and some analysts are going heavy on Iowa -10 and it's the lock of the week in a few places. Cover and them some.
  21. Sidney Rice will decide after tomorrow's practice/walk-through if he's going to play. He has to be activated by late tomorrow afternoon.
  22. That game sucked. This one was much more fun: http://espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=271014003 Adrian was pure, raw, unbridled fun that year and we had no passing game to take advantage of it. That was the best o-line he's ever run behind.
  23. That's probably true. But that's been true of every game the Vikings have played this season. The Vikings are still a good team, but they have been victimized by consistent mistakes. The NO and NE games weren't that bad. They only lost the turnover battle 1-0 in both games. But both those teams are elite teams in the NFL that you can't make any mistakes against. But the rest of the games....Miami recovered a fumble in the end zone and won by 4. Jets returned an INT late to ice a then 2-point game. Green Bay had an INT return and won by 4. Arizona had a KO return and fumble return and the Vikes had to pull off a miracle to win. I think the Bears can win the TO battle and are the best return team in the NFL year-in and year-out. I think that will be the difference, if the Bears don't make a bunch of mistakes. Good analysis. The Vikings will still make mistakes, they just need to take advantage of the opportunities they have when Cutler throws the ball right to them. They haven't been an opportunistic defense this year like they were last year. Adrian has been a different guy this year taking care of the ball and I hope they really go after the strip so he can run through them.
