  1. LOL Can the little guy behind him really be in the same age group? No way.
  2. That was really good. Surprised I had never even heard of him. His high school films were beyond ridiculous. I heard Gerry DiNardo saying the other day that if recruiting was just between coaches and the athletes, the vast majority of corruption would be eliminated. This was another prime example. That "man of god" Rev. Fairley is such an ultimate piece of isht. What a snake in the grass. When Marcus called back home feeling sad that Coach Switzer was getting on his ass, a REAL father figure in his life would have told him to man up and take his lumps like everyone else. Especially when he knew it was going to be 1.5 years of sitting out before he could play at USM and the NFL was 2.5 years away. What a slimeball. He just had no one with any logic or sensible understanding of football around him. Too bad his high school coach or someone didn't have his ear.
  3. I have no idea. As long as the Bears don't get a defensive/special teams TD or have a +2 advantage in turnovers, I think the Vikings win. I just don't know if they'll be able to get in a straight up game like that. As much as Cutler will try, our secondary doesn't like to catch the ball. Kluwe is having a tremendous season, probably the best of any Viking I can remember. So he should be able to keep it away from Hester or at least put it to the right spot. Longwell has nothing left on his kickoffs so those are always scary.

  5. Millen was "thinking" out loud that when the Ravens were driving for the go ahead score that Atlanta should just let them get a TD to preserve time on the clock. Of course you only do that if a field goal beats you...not when they absolutely have to score a TD to take the lead. God what an idiot. I missed that, that's bad. Millen is so inconsistent. I've liked him during college games this year on ABC but last night he seemed like he was trying to match Theisman.
  6. There's no good reason why turnovers on a 2 point attempt shouldn't be allowed to be returned. Reed would have made that a 3 point game. And did Papa really need to ask Millen how the Falcons should defend a 5 point lead with 17 seconds left and 90 yards to go? Ryan is now 18-1 at home.
  7. Comcast (owner of Versus) would never allow that. Well that's just silly.
  8. So basically the high profile guys? No way. Shank was the one guy who came out and said he had his back before the game last week. Allen and Hutch aren't the kind of guys who want to create more drama for no reason. Zygi met with the high profile veterans last week so they've all made their opinions known to the guy who matters. Guys like Tyrell Johnson (starter last year, healthy scratch most of this year), Jimmy Kennedy (veteran who was deactivated two games for attitude stuff, been a malcontent) and others further down the roster who have reasons to be pissed would be much more likely. Veteran stars are the ones who have to get asked about these reports non-stop now. They aren't going to anonymously leak opinions so they get asked about it and it causes more distraction on one of their last shots. I think if those kind of guys are leaking anything anonymously, it's when they let out stories of factual things that happened.
  9. The best thing the NHL could do is get a deal similar to what the NBA has with ESPN/TNT. Certain nights of the week Versus gets a doubleheader and in the playoffs they can telecast a boatload of the early games. ESPN gets the Stanley Cup. Best of both worlds.
  10. Sean Jensen was the best Vikings beat writer around when he was in the twin cities. Either in-season or after the season I want to see Frazier made head coach. The rest of the staff is really solid. Bevell and Childress are the only two that should go. Maybe make Bienemy offensive coordinator.
  11. Jason Whitlock's twitter feed has been awesome on this topic. Especially this one:
  12. Actually, I bet they do exactly that...run 20-25 times for 40-50 yards. It was enough to keep the help keep the pass rush off Cutler to some extent last week. Did that keep the pass rush off of him, or is it just that the Bills defense isn't very good? If you're running for 2 yards per carry no one is respecting the play action or altering their game plan. Their best chance to win is to air it out. I guess we'll find out. Because I still think they're going to try to run it this week. If for no other reason, than to give Jay a play or two in a series where he doesn't have to worry about his head being separated from his body. Yeah that's true. I'm not saying they should never run it, just that this media desire to strive for balance is nonsense.

  14. I'd really like to see them run 20-25 times for 40-50 yards, but I'm sure they're going all Martzy this week and not even trying to maintain balance in their play calling.
  15. Hub claims he was hearing last night it was still only 50/50 for Childress to coach Sunday and even now it's only 60/40 through the next 36 hours. Where does he get this stuff? If he was going to make the move he would have done it before the off day and sure as hell isn't going to wait until Wednesday night or Thursday. He also seems to be the only guy in the country reporting it as a possibility.
  16. Why is this sad? Why is sad even on the list of words you would consider using in that sentence? There are 16 teams in each conference, you can't play them all every other year. Who gives a crap that Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco may only play each other 3 times in 11 years? Do you know how many times Peyton Manning and McNabb have played each other? 3 times. Who cares? Yeah that makes no sense. How far does this extend? What about Rivers and Rodgers? How about Schaub and Romo? Let's make sure Stafford and Bradford meet Sanchez often. Let's throw Josh Freeman in there too and make sure he meets up with all these guys.
  17. Well none of that has anything to do with this supposed high level of confidence you claimed. He did save things on Sunday. It doesn't mean the season is going anywhere but when it was dead and everyone else looked like they had one foot in the parking lot, he played a tremendous game and brought them back. As far as the Patriots game he was 22-32 for 260. His one pick was on a ball that Harvin had caught but then had it stolen away. He could have had a TD if Moss didn't give up and he was knocked out of the game one play before Tarvaris came in and hit Tahi with no one around him. He played a really good game. He hasn't had a good year and made a lot of costly mistakes. But the record isn't all on him and his last two games give me some hope. He's a better option when healthy and protected than Tarvaris. As far as the season it all comes down to the next two games. Win them both and they're 1 back in the division with 6 to go and not a terribly difficult schedule. They're a talented team that had a brutal schedule in the first 7 games and were within 5 points in the last few minutes of every loss. There's a chance to salvage things but they have to be more consistent and play better on the road. Lose 1 of these 2 and they're probably done.
  18. We have a better chance of winning with Favre playing versus Jackson. Wrong. When our starting center is playing and our line isn't having meltdowns like they did early in the year, he's been a much better option. He's been really good the last two weeks. His INT against NE was on a Percy drop/bobble where the ball was stolen out of his arms and the one last week was when he got hit 1.2 seconds after getting the snap from the blind side. There's no chance in hell Tarvaris wins that game last week. It's ridiculous how much confidence you all of a sudden have in your team after one comeback win. You're still 3-5 and Favre has still been bad this year. Stop trying to deny that. What the hell are you talking about? Give me an indication of where I've displayed this extreme amount of confidence? You're completely making that up out of nowhere. Favre is better than Tarvaris and has been really good the last two games. That has nothing to do with confidence in the team.
  19. I haven't talked to anyone who isn't scared to death of this Northwestern game.
  20. Probably won't know until the end of the week. He practiced last week but a lot of it was with the scout team. Everyone said physically he looked 100% in pregame on Sunday and some think he definitely will. Childress seemed to downplay it yesterday. Basically a matter of how his conditioning is and how sore he is recovering. He has until Saturday to be activated.

  22. This is a good point. Like I said, I've never focused on what kind of a blocker Moss is, but my hope is that he'll at least put some effort into it because CJ isn't the type of runner who always runs to the direction of the playcall. Moss has always had the reputation of not blocking, but I wasn't sure if that was primarily just when he was unhappy or if he was just a poor/indifferent blocker on every play. He usually chooses not to but even when he does try, he's bad at it. If the run is coming near him he'll make an attempt but isn't successful. When it's to the opposite side, forget about it.
  23. Right.
  24. LOL you serious? Serious about what? Him blocking or the Titans having a chance to win the Super Bowl if Moss plays? Him blocking away from the play (or really any play) for the first time in over a decade. I love him as a player. He's still one of my all-time favorites. But come on now, be realistic.
  25. Never have I seen so much arrogance and chest thumping over a 2-6 team.
