  1. Could you guys possibly be bigger pussies about this? EDIT: And by [expletive] I meant women's genitals.
  2. I don't think the Vikings are getting screwed at all. But how in the hell do the weather conditions favor the indoor team vs. an outdoor cold weather team?
  3. Joe Posnanski's thoughts: http://joeposnanski.blogspot.com/2010/12/greinke-trade.html
  4. With that turf a concussion waiting to happen, I could easily see the Vikings pass rush concussing Cutler and making Todd Collins have to win the game. The O-line really needs to hold up. This is the most overblown whining bullet point from Bears fans from this game. If a guy's head bounces off the ground hard with force he's normally going to get a concussion. See Cutler in NY.
  5. This is going to be awesome.
  6. so? It's shameful so is the metrodome, and really Favre at this point in his career No arguments here
  7. You guys are so freaked out about the stadium that no matter what happens negatively to the Bears, you have your built-in excuses.
  8. Meh, the Bears are used to playing on the worst surface in the league every year.
  9. Peter King just was talking about how John Fox won't be back because they don't want an expensive coach. He said they would hire a young, aggressive defensive coordinator at 1/3 the price. Then two sentences later when Patrick asked him if they would definitely take Luck he said yes and they would get a young offensive minded coach. Okay.
  10. Gus Johnson is really annoying me with the over the top Tebow love. He actually completed a pass downfield that was slightly overthrown but a great catch by Gaffney. Gus freaked out: "Who said he couldn't throw the ball?!? Whoever said that, they didn't know what they were talking about" "You see the play fake he looked like Boomer Esiason" (it was a completely average play fake). "Be interesting to see what our QB's in the studio have to say about this" He's now like 7-14 for 130 yards and his one big play should have been picked off.
  11. Why?
  12. I'm desperate and need someone to believe in.
  13. As others have suggested, I think I would have at least waited to see if Lewis could recapture some of what he had with Turkeyglue back and Richardson instead of Carter. I think Gilbert carries a little more risk than you're saying.
  14. There will be a draft regardless of any other problems. At least that's how I understand it. I don't care about any position in this draft but QB. I want Cam or Mallett, that's it. If they both shoot up too high I'll take Locker. I just want a QB that I can be sold on being the future.
  15. The Suns trade is a good move for the Magic. The Lewis/Arenas swap? I think I would have waited on that one.
  16. As the resident Vikings fan, if you had to put an honest percentage chance on the Vikings winning this game, what would you guess? 30%? 40%? More? Less? Just curious. I won't let me self feel very comfortable at all about this game. In my pessimistic mind, Peterson is going to pretend it's his rookie year at Soldier Field again, and Webb is going to be Michael Vick. 25-30% sounds about right. Adrian is questionable and even if he goes and is healthy we won't be able to run the ball. Both of our starting guards are out and it has taken a below average o-line and made it bad. He couldn't get to the line of scrimmage untouched against the Giants on Monday. Webb is football fast. He had a 50ish yard touchdown run in the preseason against the 49ers where he just took off and made guys take bad angles. He'll probably be looking to run quite a bit also. If I were the Bears I wouldn't even rush my d ends up the field. Try to get some push up the middle, contain the edges with your ends and have your backers in their hook zones so he doesn't have any clear paths. If he can't gash you with a big run the only chance is winning some jump balls to Sidney or somehow getting Adrian and Harvin into space.
  17. Stop it.
  18. UIC was 4-7. They lost by 43 to Pitt and by 12 at home to Central Michigan. Central Michigan is 2-7 and their only other win this year was by 3 against CS-Fullerton. Why are the ref's even in this discussion?
  19. Why does Kevin O'Neill keep getting jobs? Not only is he a total [expletive] who always ends up being hated by his players and everyone else around him, but he's just not a very good coach. Those last 3 possessions by USC were garbage.
  20. Multiple players and coaches have said that Webb is the best athlete on the team. He's 6'3, 220 with a 4.43 40 and a 42.5" vertical. His broad jump and shuttle time at his pro day were better than any at the combine and he did 21 reps at 225. He's just a freak athletically which is why they took him as a WR. Then he got to camp, showed off his big arm and they felt like he had all the intangiable stuff to merit leaving at QB. The problem is that he's not all that accurate, probably won't make many good decisions and will turn the ball over. Two weeks ago he was the kickoff returner to start the game and was the #4 WR because of injuries. The only way he beats you is with his legs and possibly if you let Harvin get past you or Rice beat you on a deep jump ball. This is the perfect game to be a "bend but don't break" defense. I'm glad he's starting though.
  21. You can win at Maryland, though. And if he wins somebody will give him a better job. His problem at Tech was that he was stuck behind juggernauts in Texas and Oklahoma and a really good Missouri team. Nobody in the ACC is established as really good, save maybe for Virginia Tech. He could win an ACC title or two at Maryland. Yeah he's in a conference with nothing but mediocrity for the most part. His division is FSU, NC State, BC, Clemson and Wake. They had a decent season this year and he can get talent there. It's a much better option than the Minnesota job that he wanted.
  22. Did anything end up happening with those rumored rape investigations of unnamed MSU basketball players?
  23. It wouldn't surprise me in the least bit. This may not be him but that's the exact kind of thing Randy would do and think he could get away with it. Plus there's no way that guy's name was actually Woody and I would guess the average Tennessean would have referred to them as the Vols instead of Tennessee. Remember this is the same guy who squirted a ref with his water bottle near the end of a playoff loss and thought he could get away with it by immediately hiding behind a lineman afterward. That was funny though.
  24. This is bad. I do not want McNabb next year. Although now that Childress is gone the fit might not be so logical.
