  1. guillen's a clown, go throw up again.
  2. I think the New York media machine will kick it into high gear and will try to push Cano into the ROY.
  3. What is the high reward? Wouldn't it be the major league contract, that is if he's good enough? Vance is saying that with an NRI the only way he makes the team is that if he outperforms other players or injuries and you get the players for the next to nothing. Glendon Rusch has a 2 million dollar option what if Kirk Rueter could replace him as the long man out pen for $250 giving thr cubs the option of dealing Rusch for Prospects? My bad, I misread it. Thanks.
  4. What is the high reward? Wouldn't it be the major league contract, that is if he's good enough?
  5. With the way Dusty handles the pitching staff, I wouldn't say its out of the question for Woody to hit 300 IP next year.
  6. At what point during spring training of 06 does Dusty make a comment about how Dempster is gonna be moved back into the rotation?
  7. Hopefully that proactive approach involves signing BJ Ryan. I don't think there's as much of a need for BJ Ryan now that Dempster has been signed, presumably to close. BJ isn't going to come here to set up games, and even if he did he's not going to be cheap. Having said that, if BJ wanted to come here for about the same money as Dempster got specifically to set up, then yeah, sure, awesome. But I see a Boston or NYM paying his a premium to close. I would be fine with having him close and Demp pitch in the 8th. I don't think Hendy would sign Dempster to a 5 mil/per contract to be an 8th inning guy.
  8. I have no problem having it either but it seems like it doesn't solve the problem of premium user not having easy access to the ads. I rarely ever scroll to the bottom of the forum index page, and so I still wouldn't think of clicking the ad.
  9. See Hoops' post, they may not be able to afford it. Can anyone see a Todd Walker + good pitching prospect for Brad Radke deal going down? Todd Walker's name has been thrown around a lot for heading to Minnesota in a trade, but if I remember correctly, the relationship between the Twins and Walker ended horribly. I just don't see the Twins reacquiring Walker if he's gonna be a headache for them.
  10. Dear Dusty, You played a major part in the decision to keep Wood pitching long after all common sense Cub fans realized this season was over and this ridiculous experiment with Wood in the bullpen wasn't helping anything. Stop asking stupid questions, but you are the answer to them. Thank you.
  11. :lmao: obscure but that's what makes it fantastic.
  12. I didn't think this season could get any worse after watching from April-August, but after seeing how this September has unfolded, I have changed my mind. The only positive thing that has come out of the past 4 weeks was the emergence of Matt Murton in Left Field. Cedeno's been hurt, Hill inexplicably hasn't gotten a single start and now Theriot had a chance to start 1 game and he gets sick. What has been learned? Nothing. What a waste of an extremely valuable month.
  13. Mark Prior's Calves likes how Modzilla speaks of himself in the third person and Mark Prior's Calves likes Elaine.
  14. Ryno should stick to having Barry Rozner write for him.
  15. Did Rich Hill get pushed down the stairs or something?
  16. Isn't the new owernship in Milwaukee saying they'll spend more money than the Selig clan did? They should move Lyle Overbay for pitching this offseason and open up a spot for Prince Fielder.
  17. If you're more likely to wake up at 6:00 in the morning if the sun rises early for day games then why wouldn't you wake at 6:00 in the morning if the sun rises for night games?
  18. If Cub fans start dictating personnel decisions then we're in some serious trouble.
  19. If Lofton gets signed, I can already hear the anger and frustration with many Cub fans about not letting Pie get the chance when he's actually ready for the big leagues.
  20. When I hear of stories about sport shrinks, I always think of Robert Redford in The Natural.
  21. Is Kenny Williams the GM?
  22. There's no doubt, it seemed every year during the 90's when the Cubs were officially eliminated they would go on a tear and play way above their heads. I see that happening again this year.
  23. how many times have the cubs been burned by squeeze bunts this year?
