  1. He already did that once in June.
  2. I understand Tony Clark had a very good season this year but why on earth did he get signed to a 2 year extension?
  3. not to bring abuck out of fthe woodwork but why is Rusch continually starting games when guys like Hill and Mitre could be getting valuable experience at ML level? Dusty is rightfully catching a ton of flacking for not starting Cedeno and Murton everyday but not the same heat for using Rusch?
  4. Prior is always throwing so many pitches early in the game.
  5. But Patterson is fast and he plays CF, he has to be a good leadoff hitter.
  6. fixed, thanks Now the first link is missing the "h" in the http://
  7. CubinNY, you posted the same link twice.
  8. Baseball Prospectus is great.
  9. Here's the latest from resident Cub embarassment, Dusty Baker, concerning Greg Maddux.
  10. Thanks Bruce, we all appreciate you stopping by.
  11. I think quote from Hairston is just a important as the players missing signs. If a player missed a sign during a crucial stretch in the game, the first thing I do as manager is chew his butt or if I'm in a patient mood, ask him about what happened. The fact that Baker/Speier/Clines etc. didn't even mention anything to Hairston shows how inept this coaching staff really easy. No wonder why players want to play for Baker, they don't catch an earful when they mess up.
  12. I believe he had Tommy John surgery in 2003.
  13. I know there's been more than a fair share of Sosa threads this season but there's been discussion what will Sosa do after this season in Baltimore. Here's some speculation from Mike Kiley's in today's Sun-Times. http://www.suntimes.com/output/cubs/cst-spt-kiley05.html
  14. Its just as easy for you to remove it from the link. Maybe. What about everyone else? You see, the thing is, you could remove it from your post, and save all other readers who don't have premium, thereby one person does it once, instead of everyone else having to do it just to read it. I'm just sayin'. If I remove the premium link then all the members with premium membership will be inconvienced.
  15. Berkman put up a .290/.400/.588/.987 line during his time at CF during the 2002 season which was actually better than his overall season averages for the same stat lines. Why let stats get in the way of an argument formed entirely on opinion? Sorry, I should know that stats don't show the real story.

  19. Does anybody have a countdown going to when the Cubs will officially be eliminated from playoff contention?
  20. I hope Murton doesn't develop O'Neill's bitching and moaning.
