    Maybe it was requested by him? He probably feels that he has enough to help another team. I could be mistaken but I think when you're DFA'd after the 10 day period and no trade is made, you as the player have the right to become a free agent. I believe Borowski did this when Tampa Bay showed interest. Takatsu was already in AAA after his ten day period.

    Wasn't he just in put in AAA because he was DFA'd? Why go and just release him? Why not keep him in AAA?

    Comcast Sports Net will be airing the game Saturday night at 6:30 pm as well.

    I haven't seen this posted anywhere but WGN radio will be re-airing the radio broadcast of the "Sandberg Game" on Monday night, August 1st at 7:00. This is being done in honor of Ryno's induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday. The announcers covering the game that day were Harry Caray, Lou Boudreau, and Vince Lloyd.

    It's getting painful to listen to Ron for an entire game. Aww c'mon. its tough to listen to him if you're really into hearing pertinent info about the game, but to hear the mad ramblings of a loony old Cubs fan, it's great. Don't get me wrong, I love to listen to the games on the radio and I love Ronnie. But he has no clue about some of the obvious information for the game. Macias playing center is a good example.

    God, not another one. BILLY BEANE DID NOT WRITE "MONEYBALL". Michael Lewis essentially did a case study on the Oakland A's - why they kept winning with a smaller payroll. If you read the book, Lewis does admit that as he was doing research, he started focusing on Beane's background on his own. Call it a story within a story - it was a good piece of journalistic writing, that happened to become a book. EDIT: Oh, yes, the slam on Morgan. I think that's another reason why I liked the book: Lewis cited at least two occasions that demonstrated that Joe Morgan is an idiot. I was being facetious.
