  1. 9-24 The corrrect answer is #3.
  2. G-Unit got us where we're at. He's saved us.
  3. I really hope the Yankees and Red Sox go on a tear the rest of the season to make sure the White Sox don't make the playoffs as a wildcard either.
  4. But of course, he's better than Griffey as so much Sox fans were spewing back around the trading deadline.
  5. nice smart ball there, Ozzie.
  6. 3-0 Cubs in the 8th inning. *tumble weed*
  7. His contract is heavily backloaded. It might be too expensive for the Marlins. Fair enough but why sign him to a backloaded contract in the first place? I'd like to think that most teams have the foresight to estimate their payroll situation one year down the road. Not totally sure, but wasn't their new stadium still up in the air when they signed him? I believe the low base salary in the first year, might have given them an out if the stadium deal fell through. Ah, thanks. At least that makes some sense. I'm sure they were pushing for the new stadium last spring but I'm not sure how the out clause works.

  9. Why do teams like the Marlins sign players like Delgado and then turn around and try to trade the player the next year? I don't understand.
  10. Agreed. John Rooney is one of the best in the business. Of course, he'll be covering another team next year.
  11. Batting Order: #1 .282 OBP #2 .301 OBP #6 .404 OBP Bench: .336 OBP .359 OBP Unbelievable.
  12. I don't think Dusty wants Maddux to get to his 15 wins this year.
  13. I think you really have to live in the Chicago area to understand the true obnoxiousness that is the average Sox fan. you're probably right, and maybe my hometown is an outlier or something, but i don't think many people from chicago understand the true obnoxiousness that is the average Cardinal fan. OR MAYBE all fans are obnoxious to fans of rival teams. i read an a's website, and boy do they ever hate giants fans. I think we do. A lot of us Cubs fans from Chicago went to colleges downstate and were subjected to the "World's greatest fans." Hating obnoxious Red Birds fans is different than hating insecure, bitter Sox fans - but equally justifiable. Totally agree. I never really hated the Cardinals or their fans when I was growing up. I developed a dislike for them because I felt I was supposed to because they were a rival. I've always hated the White Sox. When I went away to college in Peoria and was exposed to Cardinal Nation for the first time, I then understood the anger and frustration that many downstate Cub fans have to deal with on a daily basis. The one positive about living with Sox fans is they have nothing to brag about either, whereas Cardinal fans always have good teams that kill the Cubs. The Sox have absolutely nothing to brag about.

  15. Anybody wanna dig up the link to the chat with Hughes and Baseball America?
  16. Is this a real thread?
  17. Let's hope so. With an overabundance of ML ready starting pitcher, I think Williams would get the most return at this point.
  18. This team never seems to amaze me.
